The furnishings are in the main of oak. The lounge has a wood burner, flat screen LCD TV, music centre and a luxurious suite of furniture. The barn is situated at Blanchdown Farm, on the banks of the Tamar River, near Tavistock. It is in a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. A feature of the property is its location by the river; it is frequently used as a site by painters. The Tamar forms the boundary between Devon and Cornwall. Please visit our website. There are an abundance of activities, including country pursuits and water sports, local attractions include the historic port of Morwellham, Dartmoor and the nearby beaches of Devon and Cornwall. Pets are not allowed and the property is not suitable for young children due to ponds on the farm and the proximity of the river.

The changeover day is Friday with a check out time of 10am and check in time after 4pm.

| Living Rooms: | The kitchen dining area has an oak dining table with seats for seven. The lounge has a luxurious suite of furniture, LCD flat screen TV, music centre, enamelled wood burner and oak floors. |

Egyptian cotton sheets and towels are provided and changed when required. |
Notes on accommodation
The upper floor has oak and larch floors, with exposed roofing beams, radiators provide heating with the option of the wood burner.
Not suitable for young children due ponds on the farm and the proximity of the Tamar River.
Outside
Access to the farm and woodland, including the river meadows and woodland walks. Picnics by the river are popular. A barbecue and garden furniture are provided.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of both Devon and Cornwall are nearby as is the Dartmoor National Park.

Tavistock golf course approximately 6 miles. St. Mellions golf course approx 6 miles.
Special interest holidays
There are numerous activities in the valley, riding, fishing, boating or a variety of country pursuits can easily be arranged. Painters have used the farm as a subject and back drop.
Travel
Plymouth airport is about 15 miles away, Exeter airport about 45 miles. There is a train service to Gunnislake, 2 miles away, from Plymouth. A car is recommended, the access stone track is fairly smooth, but not suitable for sports cars.

Tavistock 5 miles, Exeter 45 miles, Plymoth 15 miles, Dartmoor 10 miles, beaches of Devon and Cornwall about an hours drive.

Blanchdown Barn is situated at Blanchdown Farm, near the Stannary town of Tavistock, in Devon. The farm lies on the banks of the Tamar river, which is the boundary between Devon and Cornwall. The river forms the western boundary of the farm. The Tamar Valley, with the farm near its centre is a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it has also been awarded World Heritage status as a result of its mining history, with numerous historical sites to visit. We provide two bottles of complementary wine and some basic food, so there is enough to make a meal on arrival. Further information on owners website (see below).
