'The Cottage' is in a central village location, above the through road going down to Trebarwith Strand. This lovely sandy tidal beach is popular with surfers, has rock pools, caves and importantly, life guards during the season. Dogs allowed on the beach. Traditional/old fashioned house with good size rooms. Sunny situation, facing west towards sea. One bedroom and bathroom/toilet upstairs. The house has a central corridor with bedrooms one side, living rooms on the other. Downstairs toilet and shower. Part paved enclosed garden suitable for sun bathing, sitting and barbecues. Kitchen features old range (not working), large enough for breakfast. Dining room for more formal meals, playing games on the table. Outside shed for storing surf boards, barbecue, boots, etc. The Cottage has electric heating throughout. Parking reserved nearby for one car. Dog by arrangement, small charge (but keep garden clean, not on furniture)!

Bedroom 3 with one single bed, child bed and travel cot/high chair.
Bedroom 4 with 1 single bed, new mattress, adjoining bathroom, toilet. Upstairs (fairly steep).
Bathrooms: Downstairs shower room (cubicle), toilet, hand basin, heater, heated towel rail. Baby bath available.
Upstairs bath room, large bath, toilet, hand basin, water heater/switch, room heater and heated towel rail.
Kitchen: Kitchen, table to seat 6 and light chairs. Small table. Storage cupboard. Electric cooker, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, radio. Main door into property. Featured old range, not in use.
Utility Room: Sink. Cupboards. Fridge/freezer, microwave, table. Access to main water tap under sink.
Living Rooms: Living room: settee seating 3, 2 matching chairs, easy chair in dining area. Bay window seat with cushions. Stools. Coffee table, occasional tables. TV, DVD, CD player. Radio. Games, maps, glasses cupboard. Dining table for 6 with chairs. High chair.
Other: Old stone shed outside, secure padlock to store surf board, children's equipment etc. Barbecue and garden chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen included. Child bed and cot linen included. Bring personal and beach towels. Linen changed weekly (unless an emergency). Property cleaned weekly, or by arrangement.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is electric night store heating throughout plus individual electric heaters. Electric blankets are also supplied. The garden is safe (hedge and fence) for children with one step to upper patio. Older style wardrobes and chests of drawers.
Travel cot may be placed in any bedroom. Small child bed in room with single adult sized bed. High chair, baby bath available.

Accessibility
The entrance to the property is directly on to the road with a few steps up to the door, one step between the kitchen and main rooms quite steep stairs to bathroom and single bedroom. The living rooms do not overlook the road.

Outside
Garden is part paved with one raised bed. Shrubs and flower beds. There is a passage way around the back of the house from the entrance to the garden. Access to the garden from the house through the central corridor to garden door. Plastic garden table, deck chairs and 2 loungers, also barbecue stored in outside shed.

Coast/Beach
For over 40 years our family has played on the beautiful beach at Trebarwith Strand, surfing, swimming, exploring the rock pools and caves. 10 -15 minutes walk downhill footpath(return uphill!) to beach, 8 -10 mins. in car. Tidal beach, life guard cover during the season. Dogs allowed on beach. Access over flattish rock entrance, OK push chairs. Beach Polzeath (no dogs), sailing at Rock, Bude, Crackington Haven beaches. Local beach shops, toilets, cafe, pub. Public and private car parks.

Golf
Golf courses/clubs may be found at: Wadebridge and Bude, St. Enodoc, Trethorne, all within 20 - 30 mins drive.

Travel
Car transport necessary. Local occasional bus through Tintagel. Bodmin Park railway station is about 20 minutes away. Flights in to Newquay airport plus car hire possible. Travel from London, in season, 5 - 6 hrs. All journeys need extra time in season but A30 much improved.

Distances
Tintagel (1.6 miles) - local facilities: cafes, pubs, take-aways. Butcher, baker, grocery shops, deli, hardware etc. Gift shops and cash point at post office. Surgery in village. Vet in Boscastle (5 miles). Further shops, Bank in Camelford (5 miles). Padstow is 20 - 30 mins away. Rock is 20 mins. Eden Project 45 mins - 1 hour by car. Bude is 25 mins to north.

Tintagel: local facilities, cafes, pubs, take-aways. Butcher, baker, grocery shops, deli, hardware, laundrette. Tourist information and gift shops. Cash point at post office. Surgery in village. King Arthur's Castle and various Arthurian themed places.
Camelford - Bank and range of shops.
Bodmin and Wadebridge - Supermarkets (suggest you order ahead on internet for early delivery to Cottage).
Camelford - Bodmin Moor, access to Rough Tor - excellent open area for walking, climbing the Tor. Open pasture with horses, cattle, sheep, stream (picnics), stone hut circles. Good when the tide is in, or misty on coast! Jamaica Inn off the A30 further away.
National Trust and private properties nearby. Padstow and Port Isaac fish markets. Local Leisure Parks at Trethorne, Hidden Valley etc. Full information and maps at Cottage.
