2 bedroom cottage in Culmstock, Devon
'Craven Cottage' is situated on the edge of Culmstock, a beautiful, peaceful, rural Devon village. The cottage dates back to the 17th Century when at that time it was a weavers cottage and retains many of its original features. The Cottage has recently been redecorated by the owners who have a love of antiques and salvage curiosities. There is an original wooden turning staircase, lots of beams, leaded light windows and a wood burner for those cosy evenings by the fire. To the rear of the cottage is a child safe patio area which overlooks the River Culm, Culmstock Beacon, the Blackdown Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Cows! The views are simply amazing and not dissimilar to how they would have been hundreds of years ago. From the beautifully planted lawned front garden you are able to see All Saints Church (about 200m down the gravel lane) parts of which date back to the 12th Century.

What a wonderful Cottage! It has everything we could wish for and more than we would expect - even fresh flowers! It has been a peaceful and relaxing week, which with such peaceful surroundings is not unexpected. The setting is idyllic and we immediately felt at home. We are so comfortable it is with great reluctance that we make the trip back to Suffolk. Thank you Limbert family for a truly splendid week. Sharon and Roger. May 2008.
