Notes on accommodation
The flat is one of six in the separate, end wing of this historic building and faces the river. Our flat is on the top floor with one other flat behind, on the same landing. Heating is provided by a communal boiler for the whole building; each flat has its individually adjustable thermostat. An electric immersion heater gives hot water.
Accessibility
The studio is on the second (top) floor and up two flights of stairs (49 steps in all). So tenants have to be reasonably mobile. The platform bed may be daunting for older people, but the sofa bed is a good alternative. It is simple to pull out and has an extra mattress pad which makes it pretty comfortable.
Outside
Parking is free just below the building and always available. There is a bicycle which you can use, kept on the stairs leading down to the basement from the entrance hall. At the back of the building is a garden for residents' use for which a key is provided.
Travel
Underground is by Jubilee Line; Bond Street Station (Oxford Street) is reached in 15 minutes. The Thames Clipper River Bus service has a pontoon-stop just 400 yards from the studio, giving access to Canary Wharf, Greenwich, The Tower, Globe Theatre, South Bank/Waterloo.
Distances
Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and Tesco at 1.25 miles. Underground at 1.3 miles, served by regular 10 minute bus. Regular bus to Greenwich (1.5 miles).
Booking notes
A completed booking form and a deposit of £150 per week is needed. Please apply to Mrs. Giles by e-mail for bookings and further information. Or please telephone: 01728 452319.

Everyone we have entertained here has been entranced by the view - as have we. It will be very hard to leave. The flat is so well equipped that it made it all very easy. Owner profile
About the owner
We bought this flat 12 years ago when we moved out of London in order to have a pied-a-terre in the capital for ourselves between lets to holidaymakers. Since we wished to manage the apartment ourselves in spite of living over 100 miles away, it was clear that we could not offer very short breaks. The pleasure of living in an historic building with river views to rival any in London is very great. Since the arrival of the Jubilee Line and Thames Clipper river boat we have enjoyed transport into the centre of London which is quick and efficient. We are keen theatre-goers and spend many an evening at the National Theatre on the South Bank; we can usually be in our seats within three-quarters of an hour of leaving the flat. This really is a marvellous place to stay in London.
