Wayside Cottage is situated in the quiet village of Lartington, a 5 minute drive from the bustling market town of Barnard Castle. The fully centrally heated cottage has retained traditional character with an open fire in the sitting room, beamed ceiling, french windows, window seats and off-road parking. There is open countryside to the rear beyond the large back garden and patio area. Close by are many delightful country pubs, local restaurants and great places of interest. There are miles of cycle routes and waymarked walks from the doorstep.

Changeover day is Saturday (high season). Please enquire for other times of the year or for short breaks (minimum 3 nights). The cottage is available from 3pm and must be vacated by 10am.

Kitchen: Modern fitted breakfast kitchen overlooking rear garden with views over the fields. Table and chairs to seat 4, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, kettle, toaster etc.
Utility Room: Housing the central heating boiler, washing machine, tumble dryer, full gas oven and bread maker.
Living Rooms: Sitting room has an open fire (honesty box for coal and logs), 3-piece suite, ocasional tables, TV, video and DVD player. French windows to side garden.
Dining room has beamed ceiling, window seat, marble fireplace with electric fire, table and 4 chairs.
Other: Downstairs cloakroom with WC and washbasin.

linen/maid service:
Towels and bedlinen are included in price and changed weekly. The cottage is cleaned prior to your arrival, however we ask our guests to leave the cottage in a similar clean and tidy condition when leaving.

Barnard Castle Golf Club approx 3 miles away, is an easy walking, open parkland course in a picturesque spot high above the River Tees and presents stunning views of the surrounding Durham countryside.

Further details
The cottage is an excellent base for walking (on the Teesdale Way and close to the Pennine Way), fishing, canoeing, horse riding and visiting antique and other individual shops in Barnard Castle. The town also has a large supermarket, hospital, sports centre, banks, restaurants and take-aways. The next village up the dale (1.5miles) is Cotherstone which was placed in the top ten villages to live in Great Britain by the television programme 'Property List' boasts an excellent pub serving good food and ale. There is also a village shop/post office.
