Herring Masters Cottage. This superb 3 bedroom cottage is located in the heart of the historic harbour area in Seahouses. As the name suggests, the cottage was once owned by the Herring Master and is adjacent to one of the few remaining herring yards in the village. Centrally located, the cottage is only a very short walk to the town centre, harbour and local pub!

Bathrooms: Completely re-fitted with electric shower and new bathroom suite.
Kitchen: Fully equipped dining kitchen including cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. All crockery and cutlery is provided.
Utility Room: Washing machine in out house. Iron & ironing board.
Living Rooms: Two chairs and three seater settee. The multi fuel stove within an inglenook fireplace is a fabulous feature and provides the heating for the cottage in the winter.
Other: There is a conservatory at the front of the cottage with 2 comfortable wicker chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Duvet, linen and towels are provided. Changed weekly for two week or longer stays.

 

Notes on accommodation
The cottage itself, which retains all of its original character, has been tastefully decorated throughout, with new furniture and carpets. The multi fuel stove within an inglenook fireplace in the lounge is a fabulous feature and provides the heating for the cottage in the winter (a limited supply of coal and logs provided). The cottage has night storage heaters.

Special interest holidays
Ideal for walking all year round. There is a selection of walking books at the cottage. Ideal base for geologists and bird watchers as access to the Farne Islands is from Seahouses Harbour.

Travel
From the South Continue past Newcastle and Morpeth on the A1 (M), following signs for Alnwick. Take second exit for Alnwick (Alnwick Gardens), and follow signs for Seahouses (13 miles) along the B1340. As you pass Beadnell on the right, you will bear left along the coast towards Seahouses village. After Seahouses Golf Club on the right, you will arrive in Seahouses village.

Within ¼ mile, you will come to a Jet garage on the left. Opposite the garage, turn right onto Dunstan View. T

At Seahouses you are literally surrounded by stunning scenery and spoilt for choice for things to do and places to visit. Within a short walk of the cottage are many attractions of Seahouses itself. The harbour is just around the corner and there are many pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from along Main Street. The Farne Islands can be reached by regular boat trips from Seahouses harbour. Great for bird lovers and geologists. The historic town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away where you will find a thriving, historic market town with something a bit special! Even if you are not green fingered, a visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must, where you can stroll around the stunning gardens and waterfalls. Harry Potter fans of all ages should visit Alnwick Castle (or Hogwart’s School) and relive some of the favourite scenes from the popular films. The Heritage coastline is dotted with castles and villages and stunning beaches – ideal for walking all year round. The Cheviot Hills are only a short drive away offering superb views across to Holy Island and Lindisfarne. Alternatively, a stroll along the coats to Bamburgh Castle (only 1 mile away) or a visit to Holy Island are both ideal for a family day out.

Booking notes
The cottage is available to rent on a weekly basis all year round. Short breaks are also available off-peak. A non-refundable deposit of £100 per week will be required to secure the booking. The balance to be paid 4 weeks before your holiday.
