Recently refurbished and tastefully decorated one bedroom cottage, with sofa bed that will accommodate another two persons. Brand new kitchen and delightfully furnished lounge & bedroom. Garden with table and chairs and BBQ for alfresco dining! There are car parking facilities. Situated in a quiet location, hidden away behind the town square, yet within one minute walk of the excellent shops, restaurants and pubs offering home cooked food. Helmsley is a delightful market town and also a perfect location for visiting the surrounding area's or Ryedale, York, the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. The local attractions of Rivaulx Abbey, Duncombe Park, Helmsley Walled Garden are all within walking distance. A short taxi ride away from the cottage is 'The Star' at Harome a Michelin Star Restaurant and Egon Ronay Gastropub of the Year 2006. Helmsley also has its very own stately home and an open air swimming pool open in the summer.

| Living Rooms: | Tastefully furnished - very Laura Ashley- sofa bed -double, TV, DVD, fireplace, armchair, side table and unit, table lamp. We have a large landing area with a duvet box, which contains the bedding for the sofa bed and the CD players is located here. |

Bedlinen and towels are provided. The property is cleaned for your arrival. If you would like additional cleaning, this can be arranged for a small fee! You will find additional towels and bedlinen in the cottage. |

Accessibility
I would suggest not suitable for wheelchair users as the area outside the cottage is gravelled.
Outside
Easily maintained garden with outdoor furniture and BBQ for 'alfresco' dining. Car parking space also available. There is a short cut from the cottage to the Market Square in Helmsley which will only take a minute to walk.
Coast/Beach
You will find the following beaches. Scarborough 30.3 miles approx 41 mins drive. Whitby 33.6 miles approx 57 mines drive.
Golf
There is an 18 hole Golf Course at Kirbymoorside.
Travel
The closest regional airports are: Tees Durham Valley - 40 miles and approx 1 hours drive. Leeds-Bradford -49.2 miles and approx 1 hour 7 mins drive. I would suggest having a car, so you can explore the surrounding area.
Distances
Helmsley is the ideal base for visiting the surrounding areas of Ryedale. York is only a 45 minute drive away, so why not visit the spectacular York Minster, The Jorvik Centre or the National Railway Museum. Castle Hoeard where Brideshead Revisited was filmed is on a 20 minute drive. The local attractions of Riveaulx Abbey, Duncome Park and the Helmsley Walled Garden are all within walking distance.
In the Summer months you could also take a dip in the open air swimming pool in Helmsley.
Further details
In Helmsley you will find two mini markets, which certainly sell your essentials. There are a couple of really special delicatessens for those little luxuries. There are several banks in Helmsley and at least two cash machines. A post office is situated a short stroll from the cottage.
For those special occasions how about dining at the following restaurants: Feversham Arms - very nice but it is a little expensive. The Black Swan - again very nice but is a little on the expensive side.
My favourite: North Yorkshire Michelin Star Restaurant and Egon Ronay Gastropub of the Year 2006 -The Star at Harome only a short taxi ride away. You can also enjoy some absolutely delightful tea rooms!
