West Huntspill 1 garage, a village hall, 2 large public houses and 3 restaurants. Area is criss-crossed with public footpaths - some leading to the Bridgwater Bay coastal reserve, offering striking landscape vistas and assortment of wildlife. Burnham On-Sea, a small seaside town 3km away, features a sandy beach, several amusement arcades, a sports centre, small cinema, numerous and 2 large supermarkets and a nationally famous golf course. Bridgwater is also worth a visit. Amenities include wide selection of shops, several large supermarkets, a sports centre, swimming pool, arts centre, a cinema and numerous restaurants. Some smaller shops close on Wednesday, although most supermarkets remain open - some until late in the evening. Most notably, it is host to a now famous carnival hosted in early November each year. Highbridge situated approx 3 miles from the village has 2 large supermarkets, a bakery, chemist, several restaurants, a post office, a mainline railway station and a large fishing shop.
