The Old Boat-house is a timber building of character in the grounds of Ashtree Villa. Backing on to open fields and woodlands and only a 2 minute walk to the bridge at the head of the Helford River. Gweek is well known for the National Seal Sanctuary and Gweek Quay Boatyard where traditional wooden boats can be seen being built.The boatyard has boats of all shapes and sizes either being laid up or having work done. The village has a great local pub/restaurant, village shop and post office and has many lovely walks though nature trails and riverside.

Coast/Beach
We have beaches in every direction from Gweek. The beaches on the Lizard Penisular such as Poldhu, Gunwalloe, Kynance Cove are a short drive away. Falmouth has three beaches and the north coast with the large sandy surf beaches can be reached in half an hour.
Golf
There are many golf courses in the area such as Mullion, Falmouth, Tehidy and Truro.
Special interest holidays
Cornwall has facilities for many sports and interests. There are sailing and motor boats to hire. Kayaking is very popular as is surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing.
For sun lovers there are many beaches close by and some can be used Au Natural.The Tate Gallery in St Ives is popular for Art lovers and art galleries and craft workshops throughout the area.
Travel
Newquay Airport is around 50 minutes drive from Gweek. A car is recommended.
Distances
Places of interest are the Eden Project, Flambards, National Seal Sanctuary, Maritime Museum, St Michaels Mount, RNA station Culdrose with view area.
Falmouth, Helston, Penzance, Truro and Lands End are all within a short drive.
