This first floor holiday apartment is situated on the B3301 coastal road between Hayle and Gwithian Village, it backs onto sand dunes making it within easy reach of beach and coastal walks. Owners live in their own apartment and oversees everything. Hayle town is just over a mile away - shops include M&S, Boots and Next. The estuary just over 2 miles away providing an RSBP site for budding and established bird watchers.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1: Double bed with bedside tables/lamps and washbasin. 2 wardrobes, dressing table, chairs, and nightstore heater. Window overlooks the garden.

Bathrooms: Has one large bathroom with bath and over shower, wc, washbasin, airing cupboard, two chairs and a chest of drawers and electric towel rail.
Separate wc on landing.
Kitchen: Cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board.
Kitchen is fully equipped with various cooking utensils, saucepans, crockery and cutlery etc. Table and 4 chairs.

Living Rooms: Lounge has 2 leather sofas and dining area with table and 4 chairs. It also has a colour Television, DVD and Freeview, bookcase and 2 tables, there is also a nightstore heater. Window overlooking garden.
Other: All rooms lead off the large landing/hallway. Nightstore heater on landing.

Bed linen is included in price - The apartment is thoroughly cleaned and the beds are made up prior to arrival. For fortnight bookings, clean linen is provided at the start of the second week. Personal towels and tea towels are not provided.

Accessibility
Because this is first floor accommodation, we regret that this apartment is unsuitable for people with mobility problems.

Outside
Parking area in front of house. All are welcomed to share the large 100 foot garden with its seating and picnic tables/umbrellas. There is also a washing line.

Coast/Beach
The town of Hayle is just over a mile away and as well as it's local shops, now has Marks and Spencer, Next and Boots. The area is known as St. Ives Bay. Hayle beach is across the bay from St. Ives and has an unique unbroken 3 mile stretch of golden sand backed for most of its length by sand dunes, families can have endless days of fun surfing and swimming. It is also a wonderful area for birdwatchers as Hayle Estuary provides an all-year round bird-watching venue with it's own RSBP site.

Travel
Use of car is essential if you are thinking of visiting other Cornish towns and attractions, the area makes an ideal touring area for this. The nearest beach is a short drive, or a 10 minutes walk (depending on which part of the 3 mile beach you want to spend the day on).

About the owner
Hello everyone, Between us, my husband Philip and I have been in the self catering business for over 40 years now. Philip moved to Hayle when he was six years old and as for me, I am Cornish born and bred. We had a Chalet Park near Gwithian for many years, but down sized about 10 years ago. We now have a 4 berth Holiday Apartment here at the house in Upton Towans and two 2 - 6 berth Holiday Cottages on a family friendly Holiday Park about 7 - 10 minutes away. (To view both accommodations on this website Cottages Ref number is E232 and the Apartments reference number is E434). We oversee all our accommodations so are on hand if the need arises.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We have lived here at Dongree House for the last 29 years. It's a lovely period house, with a large garden and parking. The house is close to Hayle's wonderful 3 mile sandy beach, it is in St. Ives Bay, St. Ives is approximately 7½ miles by car. The area is a good location for touring, you can see a lot of Cornwall within a 40 mile radius.

Unique benefits of the property
The apartment is fully self contained with it's own entrance and parking and of course, the garden is big enough for everybody. Just imagine, walking out of the back gate, up the lane, turn left and you are on the sand dunes, a short walk away you are on the beach, can you beat that and the sunsets are unbelievable. The town of Hayle is about a mile or so away, with local shops - including Marks and Spencer's, Boots and Next. If you want a quiet spot, near a beach, close to shops etc, this is it, if you want a little more zing to your holiday, our purpose built holiday cottages (ref E232 on this web site) might be just what you need.
