Situated in an idyllic rural setting in South Devon between Salcombe and Dartmouth. Near many beautiful beaches including Slapton Sands (and its well known ley nature reserve), Blackpool Sands, Torcross and East Portlemouth. The private terrace overlooks the naturally spring fed duck pond and beautiful shared gardens. It is an ideal setting for al fresco dining with a picnic table and Weber barbecue. The holiday cottage is built in the secluded Valley Springs, it has its own spring water supply and is surrounded by farmland and the gently rolling countryside of the South Hams, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Changeover day is on a Friday and arrival is at 4pm and departures by 10am.

Notes on accommodation
The property is suitable for children and has a large gated terrace. Children enjoy the setting and feeding the ducks. The heating is by electrical night storage heaters and the sitting room has a log burning stove and log store on terrace. The water supply is filtered natural spring water.

Kingfisher Cottage is near many beautiful beaches including c.10 mins drive to Slapton Sands (and its well known ley nature reserve), and c.15 mins drive to Blackpool Sands, and East Portlemouth / Mill Bay. There are other beautiful beaches at Bigbury, Thurlestone, South Sands, North Sands and Bantham Bay etc.
Golf
Bigbury Golf Club is about 10 miles from the cottage and has outstanding views. Dartmouth Golf and Country Club approximately 7 miles and Thurlestone Golf Club about 8 miles.

Use of a car is essential as the situation is rural.

Lovely, homely and so well equipped. We have stayed in good accomodation before but this was excellent. All the bedrooms were very spacious, extremely comfortable and well furnished. We have 2 daughters, 4 years and 12 weeks old, and would recommend the barn to any other family. We had a great time exploring the South Hams area from this perfect location.
Brilliant holiday home in the South Hams. Very large accomodation, plenty big enough for 7 + cot. Very clean and high standard of fittings. Really good location for exploring this lovely part of Devon. Highly Recommended.
Fantastic cottage in an area of oustanding beauty - secluded yet close to some of the best beaches in Devon with only short drives to Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe - in short an excellent base for foraying into South Hams. The cottage itself is very comfortable, ample space for a family of up to seven with all the mod-cons one could wish for (even wi-fi! so bring your laptop...). A great 5-star

Married with 3 children children living in Kent. We have been running Kingfisher Cottage a highly successful holiday home business since buying it in May 2007. During this time the cottage has been extensively refurbished and we also enjoy our holidays at Kingfisher Cottage.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought Kingfisher Cottage after visiting the South Hams area many times as we realised that it was the ideal place to have a holiday home with excellent beaches, pubs and estuary towns (Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, Salcombe) combined with a host of activities and sports for all ages. The area also offers a fine range of local produce to cook in or sample in the local pubs. We specifically bought Kingfisher Cottage as it is a spacious character barn conversion which is located in a beautiful location next to a spring fed duck pond. The cottage is close to all the attractions and award winning beaches, but is in a peaceful location and has plenty of parking.
