The property is just 4 metres away from Brixham’s inner harbour quayside with a sunny galleried balcony in the lounge where you can watch sailing & fishing boats entering & leaving the harbour. Rental includes bed linen & towels, free Wi-fi broadband and your own private parking bay just a few minutes walk away. The area is full of charm and packed with attractions and activities for people of all ages. Your only problem will be deciding what to do first.

Notes on prices
Short breaks: Short breaks are only available from November to March (excluding Christmas, New Year & Bank Holidays). 3 nights: Friday 3pm - Monday 11am £235 (only out of season as above). 4 nights: Monday 3pm - Friday 11am £255 (out of season as above). We are open all year round and do not charge a booking fee.
Changeover day
Changeover day is usually on a Friday. Arrival time after 3pm. Departure by 11am.
You have your own door key sent to you so you can arrive at any time after 3pm.
| Bedrooms: | Two bedrooms on the top floor. The double bedroom, with LCD TV, storage, wash basin, overlooks the harbour. The second bedroom has full size custom-made built in bunk beds. This room is ideal for children but also provides ample comfort for adults. |
| Bathrooms: | The newly fitted main bathroom on the ground floor has a large walk-in shower plus back-to the wall toilet and washbasin. There is also ample storage in the fitted cupboards, mirrors and there is an additional toilet on the upper floor. |
| Kitchen: | The newly fitted kitchen & diner seating four on the ground floor overlooks the harbour and is equipped with everything for those wanting to eat in with built-in oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and digital TV. |
| Living Rooms: | The cottage is on three floors with a spacious lounge on the first floor overlooking the harbour and furnished with a deep cushioned 3-piece suite plus additional seating in the sunny galleried balcony, with patio doors. |
| Other: | For those wanting to sit in and relax there is a digital flat screen TV, DVD Player and CD player with a selection of DVDs and CDs as well as books and board games. There is also wi-fi throughout and a landline Payphone telephone. |

Quailty bedlinen, a bath & hand towel per guest (not beach towels) are included in the rental charge. Changeover day on Friday during the summer. |

Notes on accommodation
Sailors Haunt is privately owned and managed and well equipped to accommodate up to four people. It is ideal for couples or small families though unfortunately NOT suitable for pets or children under 3. The cottage offers the following facilities:
Free high speed wi-fi broadband, flat screen digital televisions. DVD player / Video recorder. CD player. Landline payphone telephone, small book / film library. Tea/coffee making facilities in main bedroom. Electricity by coin meter.
Private parking for one vehicle, just 2 minutes walk away and within view from the cottage. Gas central heating included in rental charge. All bedlinen and towels (except beach towels) is included in rental charge. Sorry no pets or children under 3.
Accessibility
The property is accessed from the street by two steps into the ground floor hallway. Bathroom and kitchen. The cottage is over three floors and not suitable for electric wheelchairs.
Outside
Being on the harbour frontage the cottage has no outside space/area and is not suitable for pets or children under 3.
Coast/Beach
Easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and inns and just a few minutes walk from the marina, breakwater and pebble beach.
Broadsands beach is 10 minutes drive.
Golf
Nearest golf course is at Churston a 5-min car drive away.
Special interest holidays
There is plenty to keep children entertained, the replica of the Golden Hind moored in the harbour, several safe beaches as well as a seawater swimming pool, which is refilled daily with each high tide and the perfect place to explore rock pools.
The harbour itself offers the excitement of a working fishing port and is also the place to book your seat on a boat trip across Torbay or to neighbouring Dartmouth. Or you can stroll around the maze of narrow streets to see the quaint colourful cottages and get a birds eye view the harbour, marina and bay.
A walk up to Berry Head is rewarded with stunning views and amazing walks. You can also join the South Devon Coastal Path or wander around the Napoleonic Fort at the Berry Head Country Park National Nature Reserve.
In the evening, Brixham’s harbour is lit with coloured lights, whose reflections dance across the water. The many bars and restaurants come to life, offering a wide range of dishes including the day’s catch of fish.
Travel
Exeter airport is about 35 minutes by car to Brixham.
Paignton train station 15 minutes by taxi to cottage, change at Newton Abbot.
Coach/bus service into Brixham centre & 5 minutes walk from stop to the cottage.
Distances
Other attractions nearby include: at Churston - an 18 hole golf course, Go-Kart Track and the railway station, where you can catch the steam train to Kingswear; at Paignton - a Water Park and Zoo; at Babbacombe - a Model Village and Cliff Railway to the beach. The area also boasts a wealth of National Trust properties including the newly opened Greenway House, the former holiday home of Dame Agatha Christie.
Further details
Local shops found in the main Fore street 100mts away include two small supermarkets, a butcher, the deli, Post office, fish & chip shops and most banks. Fish can be bought fresh from the fish market and pubs and restaurants in Brixham all a short walk from the cottage.

Bookings require a 25% deposit plus a £100 refundable security/breakages deposit which will be refunded at the end of your holiday ref (terms & conditions). Full payment within 8 weeks before the start of your holiday with the exception of late bookings. We have included an on-line banking transfer facility. Please contact us for our account details. Sailors Haunt is privately owned and managed for over 13 years and is well equipped to accommodate up to four people. It is ideal for couples or small families though unfortunately not suitable for pets.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Sailors Haunt is one of three cottages built above a ship stores around the 1800's. and was used as a fishing net and sail repair/dyeing workshop with a tall loft to dry the sails.
The three top floors of the building were divided into three cottages numbers 18, 20, and 22 in the early 1900’s with entrances from King Street and the ground floor became a restaurant.
