Enjoy a glass of wine in your own, flower filled garden; or relax in the comfortably furnished converted artist studio. The studio with its own private entrance and garden has been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard, retaining the original beams and a double height ceiling. Located in a rural hamlet within easy walking distance to Praa Sands, approximately a mile of glorious sandy beach. The coastal path can be accessed from the hamlet from which you can walk to Porthleven, a picturesque fishing harbour or Prussia Cove, a series of coves and beaches named after an infamous smuggler. Trevurvas is ideally located for exploring south west Cornwall being located equidistant between the stunning Lizard peninsular and the rugged Lands End; within 15 minutes of Penzance, Helston, St Ives and Hayle. Slightly further afield are the larger towns of Truro and Falmouth, or visit the Scilly Isles accessed from Penzance by ferry or helicopter.

Accessibility
Trevurvas is a rural hamlet so a car is recommended.

Coast/Beach
Praa Sands a mile long sandy beach is 10 min walk from the studio or a short drive. There are numerous other beaches nearby at Rinsey, Kennegy Sands, Prussia Cove, Marazion and Porthleven. Slightly further afield are Porthcurno and Sennen beaches going towards Lands End or the beaches at Hayle and St Ives.

There are several golf courses in the area: Praa Sands 0.5 miles. Mullion, near Helston 12 miles. Cape Cornwall 23 miles. West Cornwall, St Ives 13 miles.

Travel
Newquay 45 miles. Penzance rail station 10 miles. Bus and taxi services available from Penzance and Helston, use of car is recommended to make the most of the whole area.

Further details
Large supermarkets can be found in Penzance and Helston; with other small shops at Ashton, Porthleven and a great farm shop on the way to Penzance at Rosudgeon. Newlyn is one of the best places to buy fish in Cornwall! Visit any of the wet fish shops along the front; we can particularly recommend Trelawney which is open from 8am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm on Saturday. Alternatively a fish van from Newlyn visits Trevurvas at 9.30am every Tuesday.

Penzance is only 10 miles away where you can find numerous high street shops, galleries, supermarkets, petrol stations, pubs, restaurants, a cinema and leisure centre. Further afield we would recommend a visit to the Gurnards Head in Treen, near Zennor for simple, locally sourced produce in a stunning environment (Sunday lunch is a particular favourite). Others we would recommend include: Hazlephron Inn in Gunwallow on the Lizard. The Old Yard Restaurant at relowarren, on the Lizard. Cadgwith Inn at Cadgwith, on the Lizard. Tregilly Wartha near Constantine. The Pandora Inn at Mylor Bridge, nr Falmouth. The Ship Inn in Porthleven. Kota Restaurant in Porthleven.

There are so many attractions within easy driving distance of Trevurvas including: Minack Theatre, a stunning out-door theatre built into the cliffs at Porthcurno. St Michaels Mount. This is truly unique; a tiny, rocky island filled with astonishing history and natural beauty, yet still a living, working community of people. Activities include: Walking. The coastal path runs the whole of the Cornish coast, so you are never far from a footpath. Fishing. You can arrange fishing trips from many of the harbours in the area, the closest being Porthleven.

Owner profile

One of the reasons why we moved to Cornwall

About the owner
Having holidayed in the area for nearly 12 years, Phaedra and I finally took the plunge and decided to move down permanently three years ago. Now with two dogs and a brand new baby we're beginning to feel as though we've been here all our lives. This has enabled us to follow our dream of providing great value, stylish holiday cottages in Cornwall without compromising on quality of location or interior design. We are delighted that all our guests have agreed that our properties are finished to the same level that they would expect in their own home. Indeed, at one stage or another we have lived in all the properties to ensure nothing is missing that could detract from your holiday experience.

Year purchased: 2007

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
There's something for the whole family on the South Cornish coast - from brilliant body boarding and sandy beaches to relatively undiscovered secluded coves; from fabulous coastal inland walks to fantastic all-weather family attractions.
