Notes on accommodation
The heating in the cottage consists of storage heaters. A new immersion heater provides ample hot water. A wood burner in the sitting room provides added warmth during the colder months - initial fuel basket supplied. There is a telephone within the property but only receives incoming calls - we provide the number so you can divert your mobile phone.

Accessibility
Due to the age of the property the 2 sets of stairs are quite steep and therefore not suitable for people with mobility problems.

Outside
There is a beautiful, private, enclosed garden to the front of the property with sea glimpses, an ideal area to wind down at the end of the day. Garden table, six chairs and BBQ provided. At the rear of the property there is a small stream running along the property boundary so smaller children should be supervised. There is parking available on the lane, although not allocated we have always been able to park even during peak season. This is a real bonus for Mousehole as parking in the village itself is so limited that a lot of holiday makers have to rely on public car parks. Unloading, loading and access in and out of Mousehole is made much easier by this great location.

Coast/Beach
Lynwood Cottage is only 400m from Mousehole harbour with its own small beach.
The closest large, family friendly, sandy beaches are found at Sennen Cove and Porthcurno, approx 7 miles. Further afield are Praa Sands (off A394 towards Helston), St Ives and Hayle.

Further details
The nearest small supermarket is a good Co-op located in Newlyn. You will find the larger supermarkets in Penzance, including Tesco and Morrisons, both located off the A30 as you leave Penzance. Newlyn is one of the best places to buy fish in Cornwall! Visit any of the wet fish shops along the front; we can particularly recommend Trelawney which is open from 8am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm on Saturday. Penzance is only 3 miles away where you can find numerous high street shops, galleries, supermarkets, petrol stations, pubs, restaurants, a cinema and leisure centre. Less than 0.5 km up the road from Lynwood Cottage is the King’s Arms in Paul. Dating from the early 1700s, it has hardwood tables, oak beams and slab flooring. The bar sells a wide range of drinks to suit everyone's taste, including Cornish Real Ales. Further a field we would recommend a visit to the Gurnards Head in Treen, near Zennor for simple, locally sourced produce in a stunning environment (Sunday lunch is a particular favourite). Others we would recommend include: Hazlephron Inn in Gunwallow on the Lizard. The Old Yard Restaurant at Trelowarren. Cadgewith Inn at Cadgewith. Tregilly Wartha near Constantine. The Pandora Inn at Mylor Bridge, nr Falmouth. The Ship Inn in Porthleven. Kota Restaurant in Porthleven. There are so many attractions within 10 miles of Mousehole including: Minack Theatre, a stunning out-door theatre built into the cliffs at Porthcurno. St Michaels Mount. This is truly unique; a tiny, rocky island filled with astonishing history and natural beauty, yet still a living, working community of people. Activities include: Walking. The coastal path runs the whole of the Cornish coast, so you are never far from a footpath. The stretch of coastline between Mousehole and Lamorna is particularly beautiful.Fishing You can arrange fishing trips from many of the harbours in the area including Newlyn, Penzance or further afield Porthleven.
