Luxurious leisure lodge with outstanding sea views close to coast path. New in 2010. Fully fitted to a high standard. Views over farmland out to the sea. Quiet rural location, 10 minutes walk to beautiful beach. Fish and chips at both Start Bay Inn, Slapton (no booking possible) or the Cricket Inn at Beesands. Both pubs are on the coast path, and near the historic location of Hallsands village.
Bedroom 1 is large with king size bed and 2 bedside cabinets.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds and TV. This room can also 'convert' to an intimate super king sized bed on request! Room blinds are blackout type.
Both with fitted mirrored wardrobes.
En suite shower room and WC to bedroom 1.
Bathroom with bath and shower over, WC.
Both have shaver points and mirrored bathroom cabinets. and are fully tiled.
Kitchen has built in microwave, dishwasher and washer/drier. Gas hob, electric oven and large upright fridge/freezer. Remote control skylight. Pans, casseroles etc, food mixer, hand blender, cafetiere, cutlery, cooks knives, heat mats, bread board/bin.
Beautiful lime green/lemon 'sunflower' curtains, cushions and beanbag compliment the rural view. Comfy 'L' shaped sofa, bar stools and clear view dining/coffee table. TV (40 inch) , DVD, Humax recorder. Wall paintings by local artists. Electric fire.
All bed linen provided as are tea towels and kitchen hand towel but NOT bathroom or swimming towels. The property is let and cleaned on a weekly basis.

Parking on the level alongside the front door. Access to front door is via 4 steps.

About the area
Soar Mill Cove is half a mile away and a 10 minute walk down. The return may take longer! A drive to South Milton, Thurlestone, Bantham, Bigbury, Wonwell are @20 minutes max. Salcombe centre is at 3miles drive, Kingsbridge 4 miles.
Walking to South Sands/North Sands at Salcombe takes 40 minutes depending on route via woods/fields or coast path.
Boats from Salcombe (2 miles by car or bus) ferry you across East Portlemout / Golden Sands and more coast walks to Gara Rock etc.

How to get there
Exeter 30 miles. Plymouth 17 miles. Hire car is essential.
Malborough (garage for most provisions) 1.5 miles, Salcombe 2 miles (boating, shopping, eating, beaches, boat trips) Kingsbridge 4 miles (cinema, shops, estuary, shops/market, boat trips) Totnes 10 miles (shops, rail and boat trips), Dartmouth 15 miles (shops, rail and boat trips, Exeter (major shops, harbour, river and canal canoe trips, historic interest) and Plymouth (aquarium, harbour, major shops) as above.
Great fish and chips at both Start Bay Inn, Slapton (no booking possible) or the Cricket Inn at Beesands. Both pubs are on the coast path, and near the historic location of Hallsands village and the World War 2 tank at Slapton. Head on to Prawle point for more good walking.
Explore Noss Mayo and the walk around the headland head towards Yealmpton 10 miles from Plymouth and drop to the coast.
Dartmoor 15 miles at nearest, but is a huge national park with many activities.
Scotland especially the islands, Eire, Lake District, Northumberland and Cornwall would be of interest.
About the Owner
My husband and I have enjoyed visiting this area for over 20 years and are now both semi retired.
Having previously run a successful holiday let cottage for 6 years in the area, we know that people like a well equipped and comfortable 'home from home' environment to relax and enjoy after a busy day exploring the fantastic facilities. The lodge is therefore upgraded to a high specification and enjoys sea views.

Why this location?
The lodge is adjacent to a National Trust farm and has far reaching sea views, including the Edison Lighthouse at night. It is 10 minutes walk from fabulous Soar Mill Cove beach. The site is small, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Salcombe, yet within easy reach of many of the local hot spots such as Dartmouth, Totnes and Salcombe. There are many beautiful beaches and coast walks nearby, along with bars, bistros and restaurants in Kingsbridge/Salcombe to suit all tastes and finances, as well as local produce and farmers markets for home-cooking. There are several National Trust properties in the locale. Once here, the use of a car is not necessary as the links to the coast path and beaches are on hand. There really is something for everyone here.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
The balcony/open plan lounge area are comfortable and relaxing with great views over farmland and the coast. Binoculars, bird spotting books and local guide books are available for guests to use and enjoy. The kitchen is well equipped for the gourmet cook, and the bedding and decor are tasteful. All beds have been upgraded for superior comfort. For the occasional rainy day, there are books, magazines, games, 2 TVs, recorder, DVD player and WiFi.
