The accommodation is located in St Johns Alley in the centre of Devizes. The entrance to St Johns Alley can be found between the Quintessence Tearooms and Giddings Wine Merchants & Delicatessens close to the Town Hall. Once you enter the cobbled alley you will be amazed to find this delightful black and white historic dwelling built around 1550. The studio style room is situated in this building above the hat shop.

| Bedrooms: | The room has views over the town hall and comprises of a 5ft double bed under vaulted beams. This spacious studio style room also has a small two seater sofa. The room has a flat screen television with DVD and a radio alarm with an ipod docking station. |
| Bathrooms: | The bathroom leads off the small seating area of the room. It has a roll top bath with a shower attachment. Its possible to lay back in a steaming bath and gaze up at the stars through the skylight window. |
| Kitchen: | Downstairs we are now able to offer a self catering option to your stay. We have a small kitchen with a fridge and microwave/oven. There is a dining area off the kitchen. |
| Living Rooms: | There is a large, delightful living room which gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the features of this beautiful building. Its an ideal place to relax after a busy days sightseeing. |

Notes on accommodation
We provide tea and coffee making facilities in the room. In addition to the bedroom and bathroom we are now able to offer a small kitchenette and eating area and a large comfortable living room with TV. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to make use of this.
Accessibility
Parking for an hour is available in St John's street, near the Town Hall, on arrival. There are plenty of car parks just a short distance away. The property is above the hatshop. There are two flights of stairs up to the room with the bathroom attached on the same level.
Coast/Beach
The nearest seaside destination is the Dorset Coast. A drive to Bournemoth takes about an hour and a half.

Bowood Golf course, West Wilts Golf club.
Travel
Heahthrow is under 2 hours via the M4 motorway. Gatwick is just over 2 hours. The railway stations Pewsey, Chippenham or Westbury are about twenty five minutes by car with easy access to London. Use of a car is recommended although there is an excellent local bus service. National Express buses offer a service to Devizes
Distances
9 miles Lacock, Castle Coombe historic village and Race track about 10 miles. Bath and Salisbury about 25 miles. Close to Stonehenge and Avebury.

Devizes offers an array of delightful independent shops, cafes and restaurants alongside the main banks and building societies and post office. Devizes has a cinema and The Wharf is a thriving theatre. There is a local tourist information centre to give you details of the places of interest in the area. Devizes is famous for its Locks on the Kennet and Avon canal and offers canal boat hire or cruises. Wadworths brewery is located in the town. It has a visitors centre and of course supplies many of the local pubs and hotels with its locally brewed beers!

My mother and I run a hat shop in this beautiful 1550's building. We are delighted to now offer the upstairs studio flat as a short or long term holiday let.

We have been running the hatshop in this building for the past fifteen years and have loved every minute of it.

It's ideal for exploring Bath or Salisbury, Stonehenge or Avebury. After a day out why not enjoy afternoon tea, a walk along the canal to see the famous locks followed by a dinner in one of the many pubs and restaurants. Its then just a short walk back to St Johns Alley and your own room above the hatshop.
