The five stone cottages are in a light sunny position and ideal for family holidays or couples and friends. Nestling in a beautiful part of Cornwall surrounded by stunning countryside you will be able to relax and unwind and wake up to the birds singing. There are some lovely walks close by through the woods and forestry very suitable for dogs. Rock, Newquay, Polzeath, Padstow and Rick Stein's seafood restaurant and cookery school are all within easy reach. Penzance and st Ives are within one hour's drive. We feel that the location of the cottages is ideally positioned for discovering other parts of Cornwall. All cottages have wi fi so that you can keep in touch with the outside world.

Changeover day
At Tregawne cottages we are flexible about the start day of your holiday. During peak season changeover day is either Friday or Saturday. Arrival time is after 3pm and departure time is by 10am please.

Clove cottage is next to Mill cottage and can be booked separately or together accommodating up to 12 people as they inter connect through a lockable door.
Clove cottage has it's own grassed garden and has a spacious sitting/dining room with wooden floors and a large dining table as well as a real open log fire. The cottage is ideal for two families or sets of friends who wish to holiday together because the room layout offers a high degree of privacy.
There is a door from the sitting room to the upstairs two bedrooms one is a large double bedroom with antique brass bed and there's space for a cot.
There is a cosy twin bedroom ideal for children as well a light airy bathroom.
A second door from the sitting room leads to a large double bedroom with space for a cot and a separate bathroom. Clove Cottage has Sky television.

Mill cottage sits snugly next to Clove cottage and can be booked separately or together with clove cottage as the cottages inter connect through a lockable door.
The cottage has a particularly large grassed garden.
There is a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with zip and link beds which can be made up into either a super King size bed or two single beds. The bedroom also offers a sofa bed which can accommodate up to 2 children/ teenagers. French doors lead out to the spacious grassed garden on the ground floor of the cottage.
Upstairs is a good size sitting room/kitchen the heart of the cottage as well as another double bedroom with space for a cot and an en-suite bathroom

A pretty stone cottage all on one level making this an ideal choice for families.
The cottage has a spacious sitting room/kitchen with wooden floors and a real open log fire. New sofas for summer 2011.
There's a large double bedroom with antique brass double bed with space for a cot and with suite shower room.
Another small cosy double bedroom and a pretty twin bedroom and a spacious separate bathroom complete the picture.

Sloe cottage sits next to Quince cottage and has a large sitting/kitchen room with real open log fire and wooden floors, two twin bedrooms and one double bedroom. New sofas for summer 2011
One end of the cottage is home to the double bedroom which has space for a cot with a cosy twin bedroom ideal for children directly next door.
The other end of the cottage you will find a twin bedroom.

 

Notes on accommodation
The cottages are furnished in a country style in keeping with the surrounding countryside. The rooms are light and airy and bedrooms have very good quality beds to ensure you have a comfortable nights sleep. Cots and highchairs are provided on request at the time of booking. All linen is sent to the laundry and towels are dried in the fresh Cornish air. Breakfast and supper can be provided if required and we have a menu for guests to order from in advance. Babysitting can be arranged in advance. Guests staying at Tregawne cottages have the use of the laundry room facilities during their stay offering washing machines and dryers. Unlimited logs are supplied to guests during their stay. Wi fi is free. Dogs are accepted and the first pet comes free of charge. Second pet is charged at £25 per week. We kindly request that dogs are kept under control at all times and are not be left in the cottage unattended at anytime during their stay.

Outside
Each cottage is supplied with it's own barbecue and teak outdoor table and chairs which is placed outside the front of each cottage. Many of our guests and their children make friends with each other during their stay and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening outside their cottage whilst watching the glorious sunsets.

Rock beach up to 30 minutes by car.
St Enodoc golf course in rock up to 30 minutes by car.
Polzeath up to 30 minutes by car.
Padstow and Daymer bay up to 30 minutes away.

Golf
St Enodoc Golf Course is approximately 20 minutes drive away. David is a keen golfer and can assist you with your arrangements. Trevose Golf course is approximately 35 minutes drive from the cottages.

Newquay airport -12 miles away by car.
Plymouth - one hour by car.
Bodmin parkway railway station - twenty minutes away by car.
Hire car is recommended.

Further details
Lovely local shop in Ruthern bridge only one mile away sells most things you might need as well as food and drink made in Cornwall. The shop sells wine and spirits. Wadebridge has a large Tesco supermarket, Boots the chemist, a good selection of shops as well as a branch of most of the high street banks. At bodmin you will find Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys. For more serious shopping head for the city of Truro. Padstow is famous for Rick Steins seafood restaurant, cookery school and delicatessen. There are many well known shops in Padstow - Fat face, Joules, Seasalt, white stuff as well as rick Steins gift shop and much more not forgetting the Cornish pasty to be tried at Choughs bakery!
Wadebridge leisure centre has a huge swimming pool. Sailing at rock and padstow sailing schools. Surfing at Polzeath, Harlyn bay or Watergate bay which caters for all levels of surfing and body boarding. Beauty treatments and pampering at cow shed in Trebetherick.

To secure a booking we require a deposit of £200 and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to the start date of a holiday booking. About the owner
I moved to Cornwall 15 years ago and very much enjoy the quality of life. I love living near the sea and North Cornwall offers spectacular beaches and wonderful countryside. Having had a career in the restaurant , hotel and pub business I enjoy meeting people and am a keen golfer frequently playing at Trevose and St Enodoc golf courses. My other interests include reading, politics, cooking, walking, and if I was a little younger my love of horse riding would continue! I'm a family man with grown up children and two much loved grandsons who often come and stay. I also have a Springer Spaniel named Winnie who's eight years old. Winnie loves the countryside around Tregawne Cottages and we go for long walks each day. I love Cornwall and hope you will too.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The cottages and their setting were most appealing and I saw great potential to convert these lovely old former farm barns into holiday accommodation surrounded by exceptionally beautiful countryside and interesting wildlife aswell as being within easy reach of the North Cornwall coast. Peace and tranquility for sure - and well placed for access to other parts of Cornwall.
