Visitors can engage in a challenging trek, enjoy an unlimited number of planned walks or just take in the scenery. Historic places of interest to see and visit include the 4000 year old Castlerigg Stone Circle, Mirehouse, Victorian Museum, Cars of the Stars Museum, and the Pencil Museum.
Activities for the more energetic and adventurous are also catered for. A variety of watersports, paragliding, swimming, mountain biking and much more are all available at the many established centres. Keswick also offers two large public parks which offer games facilities in open, wooded and garden settings. Other facilities include a new sports hall, leisure pool, cinema, new theatre, golf, cycle hire, fishing, in fact more than most visitors expect.
For those who enjoy cooking there is a superb market of local produce on Saturdays and the excellent Booths supermarket can be found in Keswick town centre. Alternatively, you can sample the many restaurants and pubs of the village and Keswick.

Owner profile

Lakes in Winter

About the owner
I live in England with my husband and 2 young boys. My husband works in the legal field and I run our holiday and long-term rentals business. When not working we spend our holidays between France and the Lakes, both which we love dearly and hope to spend our retirement in.

Year purchased: 2004

Why the owner chose a home in this location
My husband boarded at Keswick School and he has always loved this part of the lakes so much so we have bought the house we wish to retire to. We love the seasons there and enjoy everything it has to offer all year round especially the walking, mountain biking, sailing and, most importantly, the Jennings beer and extremely good cake!
