Discover one of Kent’s "hidden places" yet still be within easy reach of many of it's most popular attractions with this friendly family-run B&B. Within minutes of Penshurst Place, Hever Castle, Chartwell and Chiddingstone, it is surrounded by woodland and luscious open countryside providing great opportunities for walkers and visitors to explore this part of the Weald. Guests are free to come and go as they please and have the use of a small sitting room (the old bakehouse, still with the original dome-shaped brick bread oven) plus colour TV for evening relaxation. Breakfasts, cooked on the kitchen Aga, are large and varied and, as far as possible, locally sourced and organic. Hosts Ginny and Nick are relaxed and hospitable and are always happy to answer guests' queries regarding local features.

We have 4 resident cats and our young very quiet and friendly black Labrador, Fen. Visiting dogs can be accepted provided they are cat and chicken friendly and prior notice is given.

The 3 bedrooms are all twin bedded and one is on the ground floor for easy access. All have either en suite or private facilities - 2 with bath plus shower attachments and 1 with walk-in shower. They are furnished in pretty traditional country styles with ample clothes storage space and each room is fullly carpeted with fully adjustable central heating together with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and mineral water. The old farm bakehouse with it's original beams and brick oven has been converted into a small comfortable sitting room for guests' use where they can relax with a book or colour TV as required.

Notes on accommodation
Breakfasts are cooked by Nick on the kitchen aga and are served communally round the large oak dining room table with individual timings and requirements to suit. As far as possible all products are organic and locally sourced and special diets can generally be catered for provided enough advance notice is given. Fresh fruit, cereals, museli and home-made yoghurt is available from the sideboard and may be followed by a breakfast of choice to include fried eggs with grilled bacon, large field mushrooms, sausages and tomatoes, home-cooked ham, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, smoked haddock, home-made waffles with maple syrup, not forgetting a simple continental for guests with a smaller appetite! Orange juice, filter coffee and tea are of course also available and all is accompanied by piles of home made bread, marmalade and jam.

Accessibility
The downstairs bedroom (bedroom 1) is suitable for partially disabled guests but it must be noted there is a step down to this room and no extra rails in the bathroom. Wheelchair access to the dining room is very limited.

Outside
There is a large garden and in the summer tea is served outside on the warm sunbaked brick terrace adjacent to the lawn on the west side of the house. The house is part of the original farm homestead and is surrounded by open fields, woodland and countryside.
