Mews cottage is beautifully situated at Hope Cove. Half way between the coastal towns of Salcombe and Kingsbridge, South Hams area of Devon. A designated area of outstanding beauty. This delightful, unspoilt village slopes down to the beaches, post office, village store, restaurant and pub. Several pleasant hotels in the village cater for non-residents. Plymouth Sound is just 12 nautical miles away and the cities of Plymouth and Exeter, resort of Torbay and Dartmoor National Park are approx 1 hours drive. Within easy reach of 12 golf courses, tennis courts and riding. Fishing is available from the breakwater and rocks, or boat. An ideal location from which to sail your own boat, with an open beach, a slipway at Inner Hope. There are a number of shipwrecks in the area making diving a popular sport for visitors. The South West Coast Path runs through the village and this gives access to the tiny church, perched on a cliff above the beaches.

Accessibility
Young children may require supervision. Non smokers only. Not really suitable for wheelchair users as there are a few steps to the courtyard where the cottage is situated.
Outside
2 acres of shared grounds with garden furniture, children's play area and trampoline. BBQ. Small pond in courtyard. Dog-walking area.
Coast/Beach
There are 2 safe, sheltered, sandy beaches, 400m. approx. Short walks along the South Devon Coastal path to more and plenty within easy driving/sailing distance. The 2 beaches (Inner and Outer Hope) are smooth stretches of sand, perfect for families. Lots of Rock Pools and crabs to catch! The beaches have a Seaside Award for water quality and cleanliness. Sail, windsurf or dive here. Dolphins and seals have been seen swimming and diving in the cove.

Thurlestone 18 hole Golf Course a Club - 2miles. Located on the magnificent Devonshire cliff tops. Enjoy spectacular and virtually unrivalled views of the surrounding area.Bigbury 18 hole Golf Club - 13 miles. Ideal holiday course and playable all year round. Travel
By car, take A38 dual carriageway from Exeter. At Buckfastleigh turn left for Totnes A384. Just before Totnes turn right, A381 to Kingsbridge. Continue through Kingsbridge and follow the A381 towards Salcombe. Turn right onto Burleigh Lane (signposted Hope Cove - light traffic only). If you do not wish to drive, the nearest railway station is Totnes and Airport is Plymouth. Scheduled flights from Paris, Cork the Channel Islands and other UK destinations.
Distances
Kingsbridge, a market town - 5 miles. Individual shops, sports centre and indoor heated pool, bowls rink, cinema. Outdoor adventure parks, farm attractions, riding, swimming, sailing, sail-boarding, golf, tennis, cycling, National Trust properties, fishing, boat hire and trips, power-boating, etc. Salcombe, Devon's most southerly town about 4 miles. Great beaches, water sports, coastal walking, tiny side streets with varied shops. Plenty of great pubs, restaurants and lovely beaches.

At the Cottage, you will find extensive information on local shops, restaurants and distances to banks and supermarket etc. Besides the usual tourist leaflets, previous guests have left comments on the best places to visit, where the nearest leisure activities are and the places that they have enjoyed the most. Hope cove does have a small shop/post office, where you can essential provisions such as milk and your daily newspaper. Throughout the year there are many local events in and around the village from Hope Cove Weekend to Dartmouth Royal Regatta and Ugborough Village Fair to Worm Charming Competition.
