Owner profile
About the owner
I've lived in this area for over 20 years, and love the beautiful countryside and relaxed feel of the place. As I travel around the region, I am constantly surprised that even after all these years, I am still finding new villages, many with amazing scenery and history.
Year purchased: 2008
Why the owner chose a home in this location
I bought Stepstones as much for the location as for the property. The situation is peaceful and private, and surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful scenery. It is far enough away from the nearby towns to be tranquil, but close enough to be convenient. Its position on the border of 3 counties makes it perfect for trips and visits. Oxford, Warwick, Stratford, and Cheltenham are all within an easy car journey.
Unique benefits of the property
You can choose to pack as much into your break as you wish...whether it is visiting Blenheim palace in Woodstock to watch medieval knights jousting! or the Ashmolean museum in Oxford (the oldest in the world) or the Pitt Rivers museum (fantastic for kids...very interactive) or the Morris dancing competitions in Stow, visiting Shakespeare's house, 20 minutes away in Stratford, or standing guard on the battlements of Warwick castle...or, enjoying a pub lunch followed by a lazy afternoon watching one of the many cricket matches around here. We have dozens of walks, all different, all beautiful, though some harder than others! Or potter in the kitchen garden, picking produce for the evening meal. Or simply kick back, and enjoy the latest films on the home cinema. A week may not be enough!
