Ellis Barn was converted in 2006. It is situated down a long drive ending in our natural stone stableyard. It is built out of the local Camel Stone and is very light and airy. It is single storey with visible beams and high ceilings. It has a covered seating area outside and plenty of space to park two cars.

Notes on prices
From £290 - £500 /week. Shortbreaks from £180 - £290. Weekend or midweek breaks, 3-4 nights. 2 night breaks are available. Please contact owner for availability and prices. £10 charge for one well-behaved dog. Over the winter we would consider longer term rental for furnished let.

Changeover day
Friday preferred but can be flexible. We accept short breaks over the w/e or mid week breaks. Arrival time - anytime after 4pm / Departure time - 10am. Please contact owner to discuss.

Travel Cot with sheets and blankets if required.
1 dog (well behaved and kept on lead).
No smoking (there is a designated area outside for those that want to smoke).

From 22nd May 2012, all being well, there should be internet access and Sky TV installed.

Single level property but no hand rails in bathroom etc.

Outside
Courtyard with covered seating area, raised flower bed and tubs. Barbeque. Gate at entrance. Lots of open space to walk and enjoy. Shared hard tennis court.

Coast/Beach
We are about 50mins drive from both the Dorset Coast, just over an hour from Weymouth, very popular for swimming sailing and fossil hunting! and the Somerset Coast. Weston-super-Mare has a spectacular newly renovated pier.

Golf
Wincanton, Yeovil and Sherborne have golf courses and there are several other smaller more rural courses nearby. Details can be found in the cottage.

15min drive from Sherborne train station (Waterloo)
50mins drive from Bristol airport,
1hr 10mins from Weymouth, direct local train service to Weymouth from Castle Cary/Yeovil. Buses to Weymouth from Yeovil.

Yeovil, Wincanton, Sherborne all 15 min drive away.

Very good farm shops nearby, several pubs within a short drive away.
Wincanton has a swimming pool and leisure centre, Yeovil has a multiplex cinema. We are 20 minutes from Clarks Village and Millfield School. Sherborne is 15 minutes and Taunton is half an hour. Bath and Bristol are an hour away. We are about 20 minutes from Glastonbury and the Tor. All details can be found in Ellis Barn.

About the owner
We live in the heart of somerset. My husband farms a 550 acre award winning farm and we have three daughters. We have a busy and fun way of life and enjoy our surroundings. We have alot of horses which our daughters compete, doing Eventing and Showjumping. We have numerous dogs, chickens, cows and ducks. Our cottage is on the edge of our stableyard with its own private south facing courtyard. We enjoy having guests there and we have found that our guests really enjoy the cottage, they find it well equipped, comfortable and uncluttered. We get very good feedback and many say that they would like to return.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Ellis Barn was converted from a barn in 2006. We have lived in Somerset since our marriage in 1985 and my husbands family for many years prior to that. Our home is in easy reach of A303 and about 1/2hour from the M5. Accessibility to many tourist attractions in the southwest is easy. Yet we are quite remote and generally very peaceful.

Unique benefits of the property
Ellis Barn is well furnished and well equipped and conveniently located not far from the A303. There are many attractions locally and great day trips. Some guests want to relax and spend the day at 'home' and there is plenty of walking straight from the door on private farmland. We have alot of wildlife on the Farm - Deer, Fox, Hare, Rabbit, Badger, and many birds including Buzzards, woodpeckers and owls. We have a hard tennis court which is generally available for use.
