It is ideal for adults (2) or families with young children. Bigbury beach is 8 miles away and Dartmoor just 4 miles, making it ideal for walking, beaching or relaxing. Near Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. For exact costs see our website. Short breaks can be taken out of high season for up to 4 nights at 66% of the weekly charge. Do email or phone if you wish a particular quote for you. A heating charge of £5 per day is payable 5 Nov 2011 - 31 Mar 2012 and from 3 Nov 2012 - 30 Mar 2013.
Changeover day
At high season changeover day is Saturday. The rest of the year is quite flexible.
| Bedrooms: | The main bedroom has a king size bed, storage and large wardrobe. Bedroom 2 has full-size bunk beds and looks out onto the lit millwheel itself. There is a full size travel cot which fits in either bedroom. |

| Kitchen: | The kitchen has dishwasher, electric hob, fan oven, fridge (with ice box), microwave. |

| Living Rooms: | The open plan living space has a three-seater leather sofa and armchair with footstool. Also provided is a flat screen TV with DVD and CD player/radio along with plenty of books as well as toys and games suitable for young children. |

All towels, bed linen and T towels are provided. However, please bring your own beach towels. Lots of cleaning fluids and equipment is provided for you during your stay so no need to pack those. The cottage is cleaned on your departure. |

Accessibility
The cottage is all on one level. The car park space is accessed via some shallow steps (buggy friendly).
Outside
Millwheel has its own private garden with small lawn, patio, table, chairs and parasol. BBQ. Outdoor pool (heated in mid/high season). Indoor pool (heated all year). Large walled garden with play equipment at one end. Boule court. Pool table. Tennis court. Lake. Gym with running machine, rower, cycle, bench. Designated parking space.
Coast/Beach
Bigbury beach/Burgh Island are 6 miles away. Ideal for paddling, and rock pooling, it's also popular with kite-surfers.
Take the unique tall tractor over to the island or walk it at low tide across the causeway. Hope Cove is 12 miles away with pub, parking - a good spot to take a coastal walk from. Thurlestone is 10 miles - a National Trust beach. Salcombe is 13.7 miles - beaches, sailing and a popular town.
Dartmouth 13 miles boat hire.
Golf
There is a selection of local golf courses. Dartmouth Country Club offers 25% discount on its green fees and health and leisure facilities to our guests.
Skiing
Plymouth (30 mins) has a good dry ski slope.
Distances
Modbury 3 miles. A Georgian town with local shops and pubs. Kingsbridge 7 miles. A pretty town at the estuary head with shops and markets throughout the week. Totnes 13 miles. Excellent local shopping and cafes for all. Salcombe 13 miles with beaches, shops and sailing tuition. Dartmouth 13 miles. Take a boat trip or hire your own.
Further details
You can walk in a few minutes to the local pub, known for its good food. The garage nearby has a well stocked shop with local produce and wine. Try the fruit and vegetable stall for the lowest food miles to be had!
Booking notes
If you wish to book we take a 35% deposit on booking and the balance is payable 6 weeks before your holiday. Also required is a £100 refundable security cheque. Payment can be made by cheque or online bank transfer.

About the owner
We live in Devon in a vicarage and have owned Millwheel Cottage for 7 years now. We love to stay there ourselves for getaways in the winter months and let it out in the warmer weather. It's near enough for us to look after it well but far enough away to feel like a bolthole!
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Millwheel is set in the South Hams which is a delightful part of South Devon twixt coast and moor. The fast A38 can whizz you there speedily, but once there it's a real getaway.
Unique benefits of the property
The South Hams can be enjoyed all year round. There is much to choose from: whether its a bracing moorland walk you are after with a cream tea, or a paddle at the seaside followed by sampling of local food and wine.
