Owner profile
About the owner
We lived in the Bradford on Avon area for 25 years and it was home for our growing family. We were married in Fowey, Cornwall 30 years ago and it has been our favourite holiday destination since then. London is where we enjoy meeting up with our grown family and taking advantage of the diverse cultural and entertainment opportunities. We hope our guests will enjoy staying in our homes as much as we do and make the most of all that they and the surrounding areas have to offer.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We first stayed in The Covey with our children 15 years ago, and loved the position overlooking all the boats and activity in the harbour immediately below. Being in Bodinnick, it is close to beautiful walks and has the charm of a quiet Cornish hamlet, yet is just a short ferry ride away from the bustle, shops and restaurants of Fowey, so we feel has the best of both worlds. With its own parking, the Covey is easily accessible by car and ideal for getting about to explore the area. When the cottage came up for sale, we had to buy it, and love being there whenever we can.
Unique benefits of the property
The Covey has wonderful panoramic views over the harbour to Fowey, and down the estuary to the sea, and is close enough to the water to see activity all year round. A few minutes walk brings you to National Trust coastal paths, and a traditional Cornish Inn with friendly welcome and good local fayre. Alternatively, Fowey is only a car/passenger ferry ride away and offers a wide range of shops for essentials or browsing, and restaurants to eat in, eat out, or take away. Not far away by car is the Eden Project and the rest of Cornwall to explore.
