Church Barn is self contained and has a delightful rural aspect. The village is in the 'Golden Triangle' of Torquay, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot nestling in a valley with red soil, orchards and cornfields giving a patchwork quilt effect. At its heart, are quaint cottages of cob and thatch, a 12th Century Church, famous thatched pub, serving excellent food and ale and a shop selling all essentials.

Where does one begin? Many National Trust properties (including Agatha Christie's). Jazz/classic music, Food/beer festivals. Regattas, Horse racing, etc. There are several quality restaurants in the area with ample shoppping facilities in the Torbay region. All the main supermarkets are also to be found locally.
Booking notes
We ask for 15% deposit to confirm a booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to the holiday. A refundable separate "security" deposit of £50 to cover damages is payable with the balance.

About the owner
Judy, prior to our marriage, was in the Hotel/Catering industry in the South West. Peter is a retired bank manager! We moved here to "Congdons" some 16 years ago the house having been in the family for several generations. We are both involved in the various activities of this delightful, friendly village.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
This is a delightful village nestling in a valley hidden from the bustle of Torbay but close enough if you wish to use its attractions. It has quaint thatched cottages, a 12th. century church, famous pub serving good ale and food and a village shop supplying most essentials. Close by are the beaches around Torquay/Teignmouth, Wind surfing on the Teign ,Horse riding, and golf at Teignmouth, Torquay, Stover (Newton Abbot). The moors are half-hour by car.
