Set in forty acres of the beautiful rolling hills of rural North Devon, Libbear Barton is a small country estate, consisting of a lovely Georgian Farmhouse and three separate cosy cottages. The closest village is the historic Shebbear which is ideal for those wanting to experience traditional village life, with surrounding countryside that leaves many in awe at is sheer natural beauty. It is even home to the famous Tarka trail which leads walkers and cyclist through some of south west England's most superb scenery. There is a wide range of onsite facilities including an indoor heated pool, sauna, well equipped gym, outdoor play area, indoor soft play area and games room. There is a fishing lake and delightful woodlands walk - with wildlife everywhere! Libbear Barton provides all the equipment needed for your babies and toddlers - toys, cots, highchairs, playpens, changing mats, stair gates, sterilizing equipment, child friendly cutlery, plates, cups and buggies etc are provided.

Changeover day
For weekly bookings, the changeover day is Saturday except for Christmas/ New Year bookings (bookings for Christmas are always 20-27 Dec and New Year is always 27 Dec to 3 Jan).
Short Breaks of 2 nights or more are available outside peak times.

A gorgeous Georgian Farmhouse with 7 bedrooms and 3 reception rooms - all with open log fires. The large homely Farmhouse kitchen includes an Aga and Belfast sink and has a large table (seats 14 in one sitting). There are three lounges, each with comfortable seating and open (guarded) fires with TVs/DVD players. All bedrooms are upstairs and consist of three doubles (one ensuite), two single, one twin and a fantastic fairytale dormitory! In addition to the en-suite (which contains a bath, shower, toilet and basin) there is a shower room, bathroom with bath and shower over and another toilet downstairs.

This wonderful barn conversion boasts great views indoors and out, thanks to its huge picture windows and French doors which open onto its pretty garden and furnished patio. The exposed beamed ceilings and open fire add character and make for cosy relaxation in the cooler months. The open plan fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge adds to sociability, as well as being perfect for keeping an eye on little ones whilst preparing dinner. There is also a downstairs double bedroom and bathroom. Whilst upstairs comprises of one further, delightful double bedroom complete with en-suite and two twin bedrooms which share the further bathroom. Libbear Barton provides all the equipment needed for little ones, including all baby and toddler equipment. There are onsite facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym, games room and fishing lake, so much to do without driving anywhere. Moley's is a heavenly cottage with a beamed living room, log fire and a split lounge design which allows for two different zones - ideal when some want to watch TV and others don't, the large comfortable sofas are perfect for relaxing after a busy day of activities. There is a very spacious kitchen with dining area. The downstairs is also home to two twin bedrooms and a downstairs bathroom with over bath shower unit, making it perfect for extended or multiple families, as well as those with less mobility. Upstairs (safely gated) there are two lovely double bedrooms, both ensuite (1x shower & 1x bath). The garden at Moley's is a great asset; enclosed and private - ideal for dining al fresco or evening drinks. Libbear Barton provides all the equipment needed for little ones, including all baby & toddler equipment. There are onsite facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym, games room and fishing lake, so much to do without driving anywhere.

Badgers is a spacious four bedroom cottage with a cosy wood burning stove and French doors leading onto its own enclosed garden and patio - perfect for al fresco dining and family barbecues. A ground floor twin bedroom and bathroom makes this an ideal choice for extended or multiple family groups. Upstairs (safely gated), the three further bedrooms comprise of two spacious doubles (one with an additional single bed) and a second twin. The cottage combines modern contemporary furnishings with added character in the form of its log burner and beautiful exposed beam ceilings. Its envied position, nearest the onsite pool makes it convienent for early morning swims. Badger's is also available for disabled persons, with it's downstairs facilities. Libbear Barton provides all the equipment needed for little ones, including all baby and toddler equipment. There are onsite facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym, games room and fishing lake, so much to do!

Accessibility
All cottages (not so much the house) are easy walk in access and Badger's House is suitable for wheelchair access.
Parking is right outside your own private garden.

Each property has it's own private garden with BBQ, picnic table, trampoline, and sandpit.
In addition there is shared use of the following:-
Heated indoor pool (5m x 10m) and 1.2 m depth throughout.

Kick about meadow
Games room with table tennis, pool table footy, bar billiards, some computer games (these require coins) PS2 (no games provided) and a toddlers safe play area with video player and videos.
In the very private 40 acres you will find walks, woodland BBQ sites and a trout fishing lake (with some prize sized fish - 8lb+).
All ponds are fully fenced.

Coast/Beach
Bude Beach is the nearest at about 30 minutes drive and has a large flat sandy bay. There are lots of lovely rockpools and here is a superb surfing school available for lessons.

Golf
Several golf courses are within an easy drive.

Travel
Exeter Airport is 1 hours drive and Exeter St David's Station is about 45 minutes by car.

Distances
Holsworthy is about 20 mins by car, Bude is half an hour.
A local village shop in Sheepwash is about seven minutes drive.

Further details
Very nice pubs can be found a short drive away (5 to 10 minutes) in Sheepwash, Shebbear, Black Torrington and Brandis Corner.

WOW! We have stayed at several baby friendly places but this is by far the best. The equipment has been fantastic and the facilities are amazing. Thank you for making our stay comfortable and relaxing.

A fantastic week. We loved it as did our 4 kids which made life sooo much easier! We have had a great week in fact, one of the most relaxing since having 4 children under the age of four! Thanks!!!!

About the owner
Ian Fogg is a retired company director who has created 4 holiday properties which are specifically set up to provide the most baby and toddler friendly environment. With 5 Grandchildren of his own, he knows only too well how difficult it is to go on holiday with all the equipment needed for babies and toddlers! His aim is that parents (and grandparents!) should be able to travel with just the children and the car seat!! Virtually everything else is awaiting their arrival at the cottages/house. With a strong background in his own businesses in the service industries, he realises that the test of any service is how many customers come back for more! He would also like to attract extended families who may want to holiday as a large group, but still want their own front door!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought this property for the location (it is in one of the quietest areas of Devon, with no traffic noise) and for it's tremendous character. Surrounded by it's own land, but within a short drive of the shops, it is a place which you never want to leave. The farmhouse is the original farm manager's house and is a fabulous family home, not ostentatious in any way, yet spacious and warm throughout...both in temperature and feel! Since buying it, we have purchased more land and woodland around, so the feeling of total tranquility is further enhanced now. About 5 years ago we converted the old barn, dairy and round house into three delightful cottages and themed them around Wind in The Willows, all have their own distinctive characters and are also fabulous holiday cottages.

Unique benefits of the property
Possibly the most relaxing place to holiday, with a lovely indoor heated pool, gym, sauna, games rooms, indoor toddler play area, outside swings and slides and your very own woodland walks...exclusively available to our guests! No need to pack all the baby and toddler equipment either...it's all waiting for you when you arrive (check out our website). Each cottage has it's own private garden plus trampoline with net, sandpit and a bbq ready for you to cook up a feast! There are more bbq areas in the woods for the adventurous. Both the little ponds are fully fenced off as is the trout fishing lake, which holds fish in excess of 7lbs.( There are approximately 200 fish in the lake, some rainbow trout and some brown form about 2 lbs to over 8 lbs!.
