The house is in the Rodwell area of Weymouth. It comprises a lounge and large kitchen/dining room which leads out through French windows onto the rear garden/seating area. It is suitable for wheelchair use, having a bedroom downstairs. It is 1 minute away from the Nothe, a popular rocky 'crabbing' beach, and 3 minutes from the picturesque harbour. A regular rowing boat ferry takes you in 5 minutes to the fabulous sandy beach and esplanade. (You can also walk across the town bridge to the beach in 10 minutes.) Weymouth town centre is situated right behind the beach, you can leave the car back at the house, apart from when you want to do outings to the various attractions nearby, Sealife Centre, Funfair, Portland Bill, Abbotsbury, Monkey World, Lyme Regis and many more.

Changeover day
Changeover Saturday. Departure 11am, arrival 4pm.

Notes on accommodation
The property is heated by gas fired central heating and there is also a solid fuel fireplace in the lounge. The house is suitable for children, with an enclosed back garden.
Accessibility
The house has been renovated with a view to wheelchair mobility throughout the whole of the downstairs. However, there is no shower/bath downstairs, only wc and sink.
Outside
There is a pretty back garden and patio area, accessible through French windows. There are fold up garden chairs available. There is also another door from the dining area which leads to the garden along the side of the house, offering children a little cycle run or ball kicking area.
Coast/Beach
Weymouth's award winning beach is very close, a 3 minute walk to the rowing boat ferry across the harbour (very popular with children), or 10 minutes walk via the town bridge. This is a traditional family beach, with donkeys, swingboats, trampolines etc. There are often events there such as volleyball tournaments. Even closer to the house is the Nothe Fort and Gardens area, which has a rocky beach. Children love this area for crabbing, and it is also popular with divers and snorkelers.
Travel
Nearest airport is Bournemouth. Weymouth railway station approx 1.5 miles. Heathrow airport approx 2 hours drive. Once you have arrived at the house there is really no need to drive anywhere. The town centre is close by and buses to Portland go past the end of the street.

Further details
Weymouth has excellent shopping facilities, including all the usual city stores, Debenhams and many independent shops. The old Devenish Brewery is around the corner and contains lots of small craft type retail units. There are many eating places around Weymouth including several excellent restaurants. Close to the house are popular pubs and chip shops along the harbour front.

A deposit of £100 is required on confirmation. Full payment 8 weeks before holiday. £100 deposit returned if no unreasonable damage occurs.

About the owner
I am married with 2 daughters and live in Cumbria. I inherited the house in Weymouth from my brother- we had both lived in it as children with our Grandmother. My family and I love the area- we have enjoyed many happy holidays there. The house is almost literally a stone's throw from the seaside- superbly situated for the picturesque harbour and many many attractions for all the family.
