Our cottages are individually furnished to the highest standard, combining modern living with the tranquility of the rolling countryside, grass fields and mature trees. Sleeping from 2 to 4 people, these four properties are ideally situated for a weekend away with the family to explore an area steeped in history and rich in natural beauty.

Changeover day
Changeover day is generally Friday, though for weekend bookings Sunday and Monday are also available. The cottages are available to guests from 3pm onwards.

Sleeping 2 people, this unusual single storey cottage makes a perfect anniversary or honeymoon retreat. The modern facilities and stylish decor combine to make an exceedingly comfortable, relaxing and peaceful experience.
There is an open plan living/dining room with gas 'wood burner' stove. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, as well as a dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The 6ft half tester bed backs onto a spacious bathroom, with twin wash basins and a separate walk in shower room. Outside there is a covered veranda with garden furniture, as well as ample parking.

Backing on to a wood that is a sheet of blue in May, when the bluebells flower, this 19th century cottage is a perfect hideaway with comfortable accommodation for 4 people.
The sitting room is cosy with its open fire. The kitchen/dining room is spacious, with all modern appliances including electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms (1 king size and 1 twin) each with its own bathroom. There is ample parking outside, as well as a large enclosed garden with garden furniture.

In open parkland, enjoying lovely views towards the nearby fells, this unusual Grade II listed property was originally used as a hay barn for an ornamental deer herd. Retaining many of its original features, this octagonal property has a large living area with a wood burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms - a king size and a twin - each with its own en-suite bathroom. Outside there is off road parking, as well as an enclosed garden with garden furniture.

Furnished to the highest standards, Tosca Cottage provides the perfect rural retreat to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The kitchen/dining room is modern and spacious with all the appliances you could want, including dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, electric oven and gas hob, microwave. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a downstairs loo. The comfortable sitting room features a large fireplace with gas 'wood burning' stove.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a twin room, also with en-suite bathroom.
This detached property is surrounded by fields and woodland, and has plenty of off road parking and an enclosed garden.

 

Notes on accommodation
All our cottages welcome children of all ages, and we can provide cots and high chairs on request. All our properties permit smoking, with the exception of The Old Laundry. Dogs are welcome in all of our properties, and there is an extra charge of £20 per dog. The price quoted for each property is all inclusive, including electric, central heating, fuel for the fires, gas etc.

Accessibility
Unfortunately none of our properties have disabled access.

Outside
All our properties feature enclosed gardens and off road parking. There is garden furniture in each property, including tables, chairs and sun loungers.

Coast/Beach
Morecambe Bay is approximately half an hour's drive away.

Golf
Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club forms part of the Underley Estate, and is an excellent challenge. A Par 72 course that stretches over 6,500 yards, it enjoys stunning views up and down the Lune Valley. There are also a number of other very good courses nearby.

Travel
Road - M6 J36 10-15 minutes drive. Rail - Oxenholme Station (Main West Coast Line) 15 minutes drive, Clapham Station (East Coast Line) 15 minutes drive. Airport - Manchester and Liverpool both approximately an hour and a quarter drive.

Distances
Kirkby Lonsdale is 2-3 miles away, and offers a number of very good pubs and restaurants, as well as a superb supermarket. Kendal is only 20 minutes drive, and a little further afield are Lancaster, Morecambe, Windemere, Bowness and Ambleside - between half an hour and 40 minutes drive.

Guest comments
We have stayed in many cottages but The Old Laundry has to the best yet. The design, decor and furnishings are first class and the setting within the beautiful grounds just superb. We will definitely use Vale of Lune Cottages again and would recommend them to others.
We stayed at Tosca Cottage in February, the peaceful location is wonderful. The cottage is spacious and well furnished. We were very pleased with the 6ft bed in the main bedroom and the fact that both bedrooms are en-suite. The cottage is cosy and warm ideal for a Winter break. We will definitely return.
My partner and I have just come back from staying at The Old Laundry. We were both very impressed with the overall finish of the property and are already planning our next visit. Its peaceful on the Estate, has lovely views and the town is a 20min walk away so perfect for visiting the town and the pub! We could have easily stayed longer...
