We are 10 miles from the cathedral city of Hereford - home of the Mappa Mundi.

About the owner
My name is Sandra, I live with my husband Roger and our two children, Jack and Polly. Our small holding is on the edge of Westhope Common and we have lived here for approximately 10 years, with our animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, horses and sheep. We converted the old hay barn into a holiday cottage about eight years ago. For the past seven years the cottage has been let through a holiday company, but we have now decided its time to run it ourselves.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We discovered this interesting location when we lived nearby. In 2000 we had the fantastic opportunity to purchase the property. As we had two very young children at the time, the prospect of bringing them up in such an idyllic rural area appealed no end. The common and its surrounding areas have been great for all of us as a family and our pets. Many different walks superb views and lots of piece and quiet. The "Barn", is off the beaten track, but still gives good access to local villages and towns.

Unique benefits of the property
Beech Farm Barn enjoys direct access to Westhope Common, which at 650ft above sea level with far stretching views of the Malvern Hills, Brecon Beacons, Black mountains and up into Shropshire. The common is 150 acres of open grass land, which is excellent for walking, kite flying, and relaxation. There are several pubs nearby offering good locally produced food and drink. Our Village shop and post office offers an excellent range of produce much of it locally sourced. All major supermarkets are within a 10 mile radius. As we are on the border between England and Wales, the famous Hay on Wye & market towns of Abergavenny, Brecon, Ludlow, Ross on Wye and Hereford are all within an hours drive. We have 5 excellent golf courses nearby.
