Notes on accommodation
Travel cot and booster for dining chair provided. Children well provided for with DVDs, books and games. Well behaved dogs welcome.
Accessibility
Accommodation itself on one level but there are steps outside - around 5 steps down (with handrail) and then a couple of steps back up to the deck (no rail). This is very simple to negotiate with a pram, but not a wheelchair.
Outside
Large deck with table seating 4, BBQ. Loungers provided in apartment. From the deck, you may watch your children in the pool. The pool has a key code access and plenty of loungers and seats. Views of the sea.
Coast/Beach
5 minute walk downhill to the nearest beach, Fistral. 10 minutes walk around the Pentire Headland to The Fern Pit Cafe from where you can access The Gannel in the Summer, down the steps through their delightful gardens. From here, either cross the footbridge or if the tide is in, use the passenger ferry over to Crantock Beach. Stunning! There are many other beaches to choose from just a short drive away such as Watergate Bay with its extreme sports centre and the restaurant Fifteen.
Golf
Golf course right in front of the apartment.
Travel
Newquay Airport a short drive away. Two car hire firms operate from here. Car recommended if only to explore the coastline, but also useful for accessing the supermarket. Train station in Newquay town - a taxi from here would be required.
Distances
15 minute walk into main town. Drive to supermarket. Walk to local shop. 20 minute walk to Fistral Surf School.
Further details
The town of Newquay is around 15 minutes walk away with its many shops and restaurants, clubs and family entertainment. But the area of Pentire remains very peaceful and there is no need to venture into the main town unless required. There are several restaurants nearby within walking distance. For a lovely coastal walk, walk along Fistral Beach out to Towan Head past Huer’s Hut. Or, turn left onto the coast path and head towards Lewinnick Lodge. Enjoy the view from the Bronze Age cairn overlooking Goose Rock. Walk around to The Gannel and cross the beach to Crantock at the base of the steps at Fern Pit Café. Enjoy fresh crab sandwiches or order ahead and they will prepare you fresh lobster at the café. These incredibly stunning views can also be enjoyed from the terrace of The California Hotel where you can also play indoor bowling. For those with older children, horse riding along The Gannel is offered by Trenance Stables by the boating lake. Also in this area, you will find the zoo and a great 25m pool and fun pool - all just a short car ride away. The nearest surf school is at The Esplanade Hotel just below the apartment, as is a very well regarded affordable spa. The Golf Course overlooks the surf too. The Extreme Sports Academy and Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Fifteen, is just along the coast at Watergate Bay. Newquay offers the best surf in the county at several beaches, though if you do not want to venture far, you can walk from the apartment with your board and drop in at Fistral just below, minutes away.

Just returned from 6 nights at Fistral Court. Caroline was great and provided all the information required. When we arrived the apartment was clean, large, modern; everything you need was there. We took our dog with us and she loved it especially as the coastal walks and beaches were right on the doorstep. I would highly recommend this apartment and we hope to book again in the future for longer, 6 days was not enough! Excellent holiday. Rachael, Apr 2011.
The apartment is immaculately clean and modern with a spacious living area and a stunning sea view from the dining room. The two bedrooms are both spacious and light and airy with ample storage. The modern bathroom is lovely too. The heated outdoor pool a bonus. Charlotte, April 2011
We have booked Fistral Court once again next year as this is a great apartment, fantastic views and location and brilliant surfing. There is nothing better than sitting on the decking with a glass of wine watching the sun go down! Deanna.
Owner profile
About the owner
My main job is running our holiday lets. We live in Falmouth and have three places on the north coast of Cornwall, all by the surf because of my husband! I get a great deal of pleasure from hearing how much people had enjoyed staying in our places. I've rented a fair few disappointing holiday homes myself, so I like to think we have quite high standards and give our guests a better class of holiday let. The homes are well stocked - our intention is that we can just turn up ourselves with only clothes and toiletries. So you should find that our places provide well for families, as we have a teenager and a 7 year old.
Year purchased: 2008
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We purchased this apartment because it is so near the surf - my husband walks barefoot in wetsuit down to Fistral. Also, of course, the pool was a major factor. We have such a relaxing time when we are here, lounging, swimming and walking to nearby restaurants - The Lewinnick Lodge is always welcoming and we adore The Fern Pit Cafe. Pentire is so peaceful (although if you crave some nightlife, you can walk into Newquay Town), but it's far enough away not to infringe on your peace and quiet. The Gannel, just around the headland, looking out to Crantock, is beautiful. I would go as far as to say that the Newquay coastline is more stunning than anywhere else I have seen.
Unique benefits of the property
The apartment is right by the coastal path. The beach is so near you do not need the car. The nearest spa and surf school are just below. There are many great properties in Newquay, but it is unlikely that they will have a pool! All ages will find our apartment suitable; couples and families alike.
