The eco cottage is powered by a ground source heat pump using 100% renewable electricity. All goods are 'A' rated, there are water saving devices and all materials are sustainably sourced where possible. Downstairs the patio and floor are stone and upstairs the floor is oak. All the windows and doors are made from oak for longevity. The finish is to a very high standard. The cottage is located on a 7 acre smallholding where we keep poultry, sheep, bees and pigs. Walk around and enjoy the stunning views, the woodland, the spring and ponds. You are welcome to have a cold dip if you are brave enough! You can also book our large function room to watch a film on the 12 foot screen or have a treatment in the privacy of the cottage by arrangement.

Owner profile

About the owner
Ross & Emily have lived at Laurel Farm since April 2004. We have 2 sons who give us no end of happiness; they are called Columb who is 3 and Milo who is 1. Ross works from home and spends much of his time looking after the smallholding. He also works with difficult young people. Emily enjoys looking after our boys and doing local voluntary work.

Year purchased: 2004

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We moved to Laurel Farm to live the rural life and be close to Emily's family who live just 10 minutes away.

Unique benefits of the property
We love living at Laurel Farm and hope to get carried out of here in a box (in the distant future!). We enjoy the piece and quiet of the historic Cam Valley, yet we are only 6 miles from Bath!
