Ideal for larger families and groups or smaller families looking for more space. Unrivalled sea views from the kitchen/diner on the second floor of the cottage. Ocean View is a most impressive double fronted Grade II listed stone property located on High Barrass. The cottage has been lovingly restored by the owners to offer luxurious accommodation throughout and will benefit from further improvements in Spring 2012. There are sea views from most of the rooms and the kitchen/diner has been located on the top floor to maximise the awesome panoramic views of the harbour and North Sea beyond. Ocean View sleeps up to 8 people in one twin and three double bedrooms, though if your party is all adults we would recommend a maximum of 6 to allow you all to enjoy the cottage in comfort. Ocean View is situated on Barrass Square just off the main High Street and is only a short walk to the harbour, local pubs and village amenities.

Notes on prices
Bedding and towels are provided and we include utility bills in the rental plus an initial supply of logs for the open fire November to March inclusive. We provide two parking permits for use in the Staithes Bank Top car park when parking charges apply March to October inclusive.

Changeover day
Saturday arrival for full week bookings. Arrival is time is 4pm and departure time 10am.

Bedroom 3 is a twin on the first floor with lovely sea views

Bathrooms: House bathroom with full sized bath and shower over, en suites to bedrooms 2 and 3 with walk in showers, en suite wet room and separate toilet to king sized room on lower ground floor.
Kitchen: Located on the top floor with stunning sea views. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer. Dining table with seating for 6 plus 2 bar stools at the breakfast bar.
Living Rooms: The lounge is on the ground floor with original wood panelling and open fire in beautiful surround. TV and DVD player, Playstation 2, selection of games. Additional seating in the Snug area to the rear of the lounge.

Notes on accommodation
Underfloor heating to lower ground floor and main bathroom, electric heaters in all other rooms and open fire on ground floor.

Accessibility
Short term parking is available in Staithes High Street for unloading and the main car park is a 5-10 minute walk from the cottage. There is a steep staircase in the cottage which may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

Outside
There is a small seating area at the top of the entrance steps. The cottage is only a 2 minute walk to Staithes harbour and beach.

Coast/Beach
Staithes has a small harbour beach 200 yards from the properties, Runswick Bay 5 miles - long sandy beach renowned as the best beach combing beach in Britain, Sandsend 7 miles - beautiful long sandy beach with stunning views towards Whitby and very popular with surfers.

Golf
Whitby Golf Club 9 miles - cliff top course with stunning views, Hunley Hall 7 miles 27 holes located north of Boulby cliff, Saltburn Golf Club 9 miles - parkland course.

Special interest holidays
Picturesque Staithes is famous for its’ fishing and crabbing. The view across the harbour is idyllic and is often the subject of many artistic endeavours. There are also many lovely cliff top walks nearby and the area is a bird watchers paradise!

Travel
Staithes is on the main bus route from Middlesbrough to Whitby with hourly services. Stations - Saltburn by the Sea 9 miles, Whitby 9 miles. Airports - Durham Tees Valley 25 miles, Leeds Bradford 75 miles, Newcastle 75 miles. Use of a car is not essential, but recommended.

Whitby 9 miles, Saltburn by the Sea 9 miles, North York Moors Railway at Grosmont 11 miles, Scarborough 28 miles, York 45 miles.

Further details
Two local pubs The George and Cod & Lobster in the village plus The Cleveland Corner bistro, an intimate dining experience. In Dalehouse there is the Fox & Hounds and in Hinderwell the Badger Hounds offering good pub food or Sentebale also in Hinderwell, which is run by a well known local chef. All are within 10 minute drive or 30 minute walk if you are feeling energetic! Further afield there are many award winning restaurants in Goldsborough, Sandsend and Whitby.

Payment is by cheque or internet transfer.We are happy to accept one dog at the property for an additional charge of £25 and may consider an additional dog by prior arrangement.
