Whitepost is a converted 19th century Kentish oast house, set in its own grounds and forming two sides of a picturesque brick paved courtyard, adjacent to the owners converted 14th century barn and stable block. Whitepost Oast lies between the picturesque tudor villages of Chiddingstone (wholly owned by the National Trust), and Penshurst with its large stately home (Penshurst Place). Also conveniently located for excursions to Hever Castle, Igtham Mote, Knole House, Chartwell, and Groombridge Place. The towns of Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells with their lively shopping centres are no more than 20 minutes drive away, or within easy access by rail.

Notes on accommodation
Breakfasts are served in the roundel of the Oast House, and may include home grown rhubarb, gooseberries, plums, raspberries, and tomatoes when in season, as well as a traditional full english breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients. Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement.
Travel
Whitepost Oast is situated within 5 minutes walk of Penshurst station with regular services to London Victoria, or London Charing Cross, (journey time 1 hr approx). A ten minute drive takes you to Hildenborough with a regular 45 minute train link to London Charing Cross.
Heathrow airport is a one hour drive. Gatwick airport 35 minutes by car. There is a direct train link from Gatwick airport to Penshurst Station.

Whitepost is also a good centre for a walking holiday, maps and expert local knowledge are available to help you plan your route, maybe including some of the charming local pubs (all serving food) along your way.
The Little Brown Jug, (5 minutes walk), the Greyhound (10 minutes walk), the Castle inn, the Rock inn, or the Fleur de Lys (all 5 minutes drive) serve a choice of good value meals.
