About the owner
We are a family of four and moved to Cornwall 12 years ago because of our love of the sea. We wanted the dream - to live in a beautiful house right by the beach. My husband is a teacher and I am a full time mum so we trip off in our camper van for six weeks every summer and rent our home. Our personal belongings are packed away and a friend gives the house a thorough clean each Saturday. We have done this for a few years now with a previous property in Bude and have had great success with our visitors thoroughly enjoying both our home and the location. We have completely renovated our new home at Widemouth to an exceptional standard and are sure you will enjoy your holiday as much as we enjoy living here.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
When we viewed this house we fell in love with the location and beautiful garden. The previous owner was a lovely old lady who had lived in it for 50 years and as you can imagine there was a lot of work to be done. We cleared the back garden of years worth of junk and set about turning this tired old 1930's bungalow into a modern spacious family home. Plans were drawn up and planning permission granted and in easter 2008 we were ready for the big renovation. The house was gutted, re-wired, re-plumbed, re-roofed and extended. Two years later we have a truly amazing house a stones throw from the beach.
Unique benefits of the property
We love the location of the property, a five minute stroll to the sea, yet set just back from the beach so enjoying a quiet rural feel down a leafy lane. There are lovely walks along the coast path. One direction takes you past the village shop selling locally caught fish and local produce as well as daily papers and other sundries. Then a little further along to the Bay View Inn serving dinner on the terrace whilst watching the sun set over the sea. Both within a half mile walk. The other direction takes you to Millook, a famous big wave surf break. We both surf regularly and feel very privileged to be able to put on our wetsuits in the warmth, run down to the beach and return to a hot shower, we don't miss the car park changing!
