Welcome to Fowey River Views, a fantastic holiday home in the picturesque ancient town and port of Fowey, voted one of the top three 'best places to live' in Britain by Country Life magazine! Fowey River Views used to be part of a ships chandlers, built in 1892. It has remained in the same family since and has recently been refurbished, and was newly available as a holiday let from April 2009. Fowey River Views is on the waters edge and has amazing views across the river to the village of Bodinnick and Daphne Du Mauriers home, Ferryside. For our guests comfort: - 100% cotton bed linen is provided - 100% cotton bath and hand towels are provided. Please note that for guest comfort, Fowey River Views is non-smoking. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.

Changeover day
Change-over day is Saturdays: Departure by 10am. Arrivals from 3pm.

Bedrooms: Master bedroom: Relax on the double bed, or prepare for a night out in one of the many fine restaurants.
Twin bedroom:A spacious room with two full sized single beds, ideal for adults or children (dimmer switch fitted), a travel cot is also available.
Bathrooms: A family bathroom with an electric shower over the bath.
Kitchen: With views looking down the river you may spend more time in the kitchen than you thought! Equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dish-washer, kettle, toaster and many utensils.
Living Rooms: Lounge / Dining room:
With fantastic views of the river and Bodinnick village this is the ideal location to wind down and relax. There is a dining table, sofa and chairs, television, DVD player and CD Player/Radio.

Fowey River Views is family friendly with a stair gate; travel cot (bedding not included) & booster seat provided for those with young children.

Accessibility
Please note this is a 1st / 2nd floor apartment and may not be suitable for the elderly, it is however family friendly.

New for 2012: A Juliet Balcony has been added from the lounge. Enjoy a book and a glass of wine on the balcony (approx 4ft x 2ft).

Coast/Beach
Fowey River Views is on the Waters Edge. At low tide you are about 1 metre from the beach!
The largest beach in Fowey is Readymoney Cove, with a permanent swimming raft it's great fun for all the family.
Whitehouse beach disappears completely at high tide, but is a little quieter than Readymoney, with a children's paddling pool in the summer months.

7 miles from nearest golf.

Travel
You can also catch a train to Par (3 miles away) or St Austell (7 miles) or fly to Newquay airport (20 miles away).
You will find a car is useful for exploring the wider area.
Fowey River Views is located on Passage Street. To access by car you will need to drive through the town, we recommend you do this only for loading and unloading as the town has very narrow streets.
Parking is available just 300 yards down the road at Old Station Yard Car Park from around £3/day.

Distances
River Views is only 6 miles from the world renowned Eden Project. There is much to do in the area - the magnificent Lanhydrock House (National Trust) is only 7 miles away and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 15 miles away.
Padstow, Falmouth and St. Ives are within easy reach for a day out, if you fancy exploring further afield.

Further details
Fowey offers some very special events including the Daphne Du Maurier festival in May and Fowey Royal Regatta Week in August.
There are some fine walks in the area that take in the fantastic views around the Cornish coast line. We like to take the car ferry to Bodinnick then walk along Hall walk to Polruan further down the river returning by passenger Ferry.
Boats and kayaks (either guided tours or self-drive) are available for hire in Fowey harbour in the summer months.

About the owner
My husband and I live in Warwickshire with our 2 children. I have been going to Fowey since meeting my husband, when we worked together and he sold me a holiday in River Views (which his parents then owned)! We have been regular visitors to Fowey ever since, whether it's the excitement of Regatta week or a quieter break in the winter months. Our children have now come to love Fowey and enjoy the simple pleasures of building sand-castles (my husband also seems to enjoy 'helping' with the sand-castles too!), rock-pooling and crabbing. We all love to get on the water by kayak or boat and exploring the river. We enjoy meals in the many fine restaurants whether it's a lively evening in Sams with old friends or a more intimate meal in Tiffins Bistro.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
My husbands parents put River Views on the market and we thought this would be a great opportunity to keep it in the family (it was built in 1892 by my husbands Great-great-grandfather). The lounge was originally my husbands bedroom when he was growing up! It is also a base that we hope our children, and their children can use for many generations. Fowey is a very special town, that has become much more fashionable in recent years (with a few famous residents now). It has still retained it's original charm with narrow winding streets and river life. We love to watch all the boats on the river, we think River Views has the best spot in town with activity all year long.

Unique benefits of the property
River Views is just 5 minutes walk from the town centre, just far enough away as to not be disturbed by the revellers in the summer months. But still with in easy reach of the many fine restaurants, pubs and shops. River Views is close to two car-parks, which is great, as parking is at a premium in Fowey (not really being designed for cars!). The views are amazing, you can't help but relax watching the life on the river! We hope all our guests get as much pleasure from River Views as we have over the years.
