Country House in Hamlet Famous for Beatrix Potter
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Three Bedrooms (Sleeps 6)
|
Beechmount is located between the picturesque village of Hawkshead and Bowness on the ferry road (B5285) on the edge of the village of Near Sawrey, the hamlet made famous as the home of Beatrix Potter. Hill Top, the Tower Bank Arms public house and other aspects of the village are featured in many of Beatrix Potters works. Indeed the house was leased for a year, in 1915, by Miss Potter for use by her mother. For walkers there are many low level walks that lead to some of the less populated areas of the fells with most leading to the larger village of Hawkshead that boasts at least four good pubs that provide food. It has been awarded a Enjoy England 5-Star Gold award.
