Guest comments
We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely cottage. As well as being impressed by the Stables, we also loved the Hartland peninsula - we have come home for a rest after lots of good walks! - Mr & Mrs Fallding (June 2009).

We had a wonderful stay and found the stables very comfortable (our little boy enjoyed the open living space so he could keep an eye on us all). The character of the stables charmed us all and has given us a very enjoyable first family holiday and one that we hope to return to. Your photographs and descriptions on the local beaches were very helpful and we fell in love with Duck Pool and Sandy Mouth. - The Partridges (July 2009).

We had a lovely relaxing time. Your place is perfect - warm, cosy, comfortable, spotless and had everything we needed - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends. Mr & Mrs Yapp (Sept 09).

Owner profile

About the owner
I live with my husband Paul and 2 lovely little daughters in Bristol. Both our properties have been given the seal of approval by the very high standards of our 3 and 5 year olds!

Year purchased: 2001

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The location of our property is idyllic. It is so peaceful everyday and yet close to all the amenities you would want on a holiday in North Devon. We bought the property because we fell in love with the uniqueness of the property itself and had not even discovered Hartland Quay at this point! Hartland Quay is a real gem with breath-taking scenery on both sunny or stormy days. It is also close enough to explore all the gorgeous beaches of North Cornwall. See if you can refuse a cream tea in the many tea rooms close by as we cannot!

Unique benefits of the property
We were the second people to buy a property on the converted 'model farm' and chose to buy the stables conversion because it was the property with the most unique and original features. The living area is so spacious. Children know that you are close by and so are very happy occupying themselves allowing you to relax and enjoy watching them. The bathroom is also very big and it is hard not to feel totally relaxed after a day out walking or on the beach, followed by a BBQ in the garden and then a soak in the roll-top bath.
