Ideally placed to enjoy the full delights of the Northern Lakes, 11 miles from the popular Lake District town of Keswick, which has one of the most attractive backdrops in the Lake District, and 7 miles from the market town of Penrith. There are numerous gentle walks available, and for the more adventurous day long hikes to the summits of Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn. A superb location for a holiday at any time of year.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible. Arrivals preferably not before 3pm to allow for cleaning. You can ,however, drop your bags off if you arrive early. We expect people to depart by about 11am.

Keswick golf course is situated about 7 miles away, between Blencathra and Clough Head.
Penrith golf course is about 8 miles away.

Travel
A car is recommended since public transport is not very good.

Penruddock 2 miles by car, less by footpath.
Greystoke 4 miles.
Penrith 8 miles.
Keswick 10 miles.

Further details
Nearest shop/post office is 4 miles away in Greystoke.
Larger supermarkets, restaurants, banks etc in Penrith and Keswick. Keswick must have the largest selection of outdoor clothing shops in the country. Within 2 miles there are 2 pubs serving good food. The cottage is strictly no smoking and we do not accept pets.

We require a 10% deposit to secure a booking. Full payment is expected about 4 weeks before the holiday.

About the owner
John and Lesley have lived at Stoddah since 1989. John is a watercolour artist whose main subject matter is provided by the mountainous scenery of the Lake District. Lesley is a Landscape Architect/Planner working for Cumbria County Council. They have a son Ed (17) who's following in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix as a rock guitarist.
