Changeover day
The normal changeover day is Friday at 10am to vacate and 3pm to arrive.
| Bedrooms: | Spacious master bedroom with king-size oak bed and French cotton sheets. En-suite Lovely view of the garden and pond. Bedroom 2 has two beautiful wooden twin beds, built-in wardrobe sea view to the Hartland light-house. Bedroom 3 with bunk beds. |

| Kitchen: | Large stone floor kitchen with oak work-tops. Fully equipped with new, cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and all new utensils. Large larder and loads of cuboard space. |
| Living Rooms: | The space is open plan so the kitchen drops down two steps to a bright dinning room with large refractory table and six chairs. Patio doors to garden. The lounge is off this room down two steps. There are two large sofas, TVand DVD, hand made coffee table |

Towels and beautiful French cotton sheets are provided. These are changed every week and the cottage is cleaned every week. |

Large grassed garden enclosed by front gate with separate fenced off section for complete safety. Natural free flowing pond with fish, safe for children as fenced off. Built in BBQ, large wooden table with 6 chairs. Some toys for young children.
Coast/Beach
North Devon is host to some of the worlds most beautiful beaches, Saunton Sands with 6 miles of stunning beach is the second longest tide in the world. Putsburough, to the west side of Woolacombe bay is the most beautiful beach you will ever see. Plus the famous beach at Croyde, all of this is only 20 mins drive away. The area is also famous for some of the best surfing in the world and also hosts a stunning nature reserve for birds at Braunton Burroughs. The coastal walks are well marked.
Golf
World class links golf course at Saunton Sands plus many others within 2 miles. Westward Ho! reported to be one of the oldest in the world only 8 miles away.
Special interest holidays
The Byre is ideally suited for ramblers or those who simply love a good walk in the country with your dog. Goodleigh is just on the foothills of Exmoor and you can be walking on the stunning rolling hills and dells within 15 minutes.
The Byre is pet friendly and welcomes a well behaved dog ( two on request!).
We can provide plenty of books stacked with great walks and even some local knowledge to help you find the best walks for your own personal needs.
Travel
We are 3 hours from London and the Midlands via M4/5 and the A316. The nearest airport is Exeter -1 hour and Bristol -1 1/2 hours away. The nearest ferry is Plymouth or Portsmouth / Bournmouth, all about 2-3 hours drive. Car is essential if you want to fully enjoy the local attractions.
Distances
We are on the edge off the beautiful village of Goodleigh and walking distance (400 metres) to the local pub The New Inn which offers great food and will even deliver to the cottage! We are 2 1/2 miles from Barnstaple which dates back to Viking days, it has great shops, restaurants and a farmers and craft market every week. The beaches are 7 miles away and Exmoor is the same. There are loads of holiday attractions for children with The Big Sheep and The Milky Way only half an hour’s drive away.
Further details
All major super-markets can be found in Barnstaple, 2 miles away. Barnstaple also has every major bank or building society. The Panier market in the centre of the town is famous for it's local food and produce and arts and crafts. The local village of Appledore also hosts a wealth of crafts and art galleries. North Devon holds the fantastic North Devon Festival during June with international stars performing at the Queens Theatre and the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe. This festival also includes the the famous music festival on Croyde beach - Ocean Fest! Which will have top bands from around the world. There is a host of beautiful seaside villages to explore, such as Clovelly which has been kept intact for thousands of years. For the more adventurous there is a hoste of water-sports from surfing to kite -surfing and canoeing. Instow has a great sailing club where the kids can learn to sail and the Tarka trail which runs from Torrington all the way through to Instow and on to Braunton. For younger children there are fantastic theme parks like the Wildlife and Dinasaur Park at Combe Martin and The Big Sheep and The Milky Way with loads of scary rides. North Devon also has many beautiful gardens like the ones at Rosemoor, Docton Mill and the amazing gardens and art and sculpture park at Broomhill just outside Barnstaple.
