The apartment is in a new complex with a large shared pool in the Universe area of Kato Paphos (the opposite end of the town to the Tomb of the Kings Road). It is conveniently placed between the sea and the shopping area of Pano Paphos.

Prices are per week for the apartment (not per person) in UK Pounds. Discount prices are available for bookings of two weeks or more.

Changeover day
Change over day is flexible. Departure should be by noon except by prior arrangement.

Bedrooms: 1 double bedroom (with en suite). 1 twin bedroom.
Sofa bed is available for a fifth person. There is also a cot. The sofa bed and cot have mattresses for extra comfort.
Bathrooms: The master bedroom has en suite shower, wc and basin. There is a separate shower room/wc.
Kitchen: The well equipped kitchen includes hob, cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine.
Living Rooms: The lounge and kitchen areas are open plan. The lounge has a sofa bed and two easy chairs and a TV with DVD player. A large table provides seating for six.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and bed linen are changed weekly. Beach towels are provided.

 

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is fully air-conditioned, the units also acting as heaters for the winter. No extra charge is made for their use. Being on the ground floor, the apartment is ideal for children.

Outside
There is a patio area suitable for outdoor dining. The patio leads to the paved area around the large, shared swimming pool. Sunbeds are provided (2 private, others shared). There is a large private car park for guest use.

Coast/Beach
The apartment is about 1.5 miles from the sea. Paphos has a nice sandy beach. A larger beach can be found at Coral Bay, about 20 minutes drive away.

Travel
The nearest airport is Paphos Airport (about 15 minutes by car). Larnaka Airport is about 75 minutes by car (all motorway) and can sometimes be cheaper for flights. We suggest that a car would be useful.

Distances
The nearest food shop is about 600m away. The beach is just over 2km as is the promenade. Pano Paphos (the old town) is about 5 minutes drive away. Paphos Harbour with it's old fort and the world famous Paphos mosaics are also only 5 minutes by car.

Further details
Paphos, once the capital of Cyprus, is now a relaxing seaside resort in the south-west corner of the island. It has cosy, safe beaches, a large variety of restaurants and bars, and a few discos and night-clubs just behind the promenade but it is most suitable for those seeking a quieter holiday. The long promenade leads to the harbour area, which is steeped in history. Ancient ruins, mosaics and an amphitheatre are all open to the public. There are many tours available including coach trips or jeep safaris into the Troodos mountains, local monasteries, nature reserves, pleasure cruises along the coast and tours to the capital, Nicosia. Two or three night cruises are also possible to Israel and Egypt.
The local language is Greek but in the Paphos area nearly everyone speaks English. They drive on the left and car hire is not expensive. Electricity is the same as in the UK (240V, 50Hz and 3-pin plugs). Entrance to local beaches is free and water skiing, jet skiing and paragliding are available. Horse riding, mini golf and a waterpark can be found in Paphos itself and there are three golf courses within 30 minutes drive. A short car journey along the coast will lead you to many quiet coves and beaches.

Booking notes
This is a non-smoking apartment. It is a family apartment, so no single sex groups please. Sorry, no pets.
A non-refundable deposit of £50 per week (or part thereof) secures a booking. Full payment must be made 6 weeks before arrival. A security/breakage deposit of £50 is also required at the time of making the final payment – this is fully refundable provided there are no breakages.

Guest comments
Had a great time in your clean spacious apartment, well equipped, including Sat TV for British Progs. Really enjoyed ourselves. Weather was great, sunshine and blue cloudless skies every day, Wow. Veronika & Grant

About the owner
Veronika and Grant first met in Cyprus in May 1999 - Grant had been holidaying there on and off for 10 years and Veronika was living and working there. When Grant went to hire a car he didn't expect to find a wife but the man hiring out the cars was Veronika's Godfather and he made the introduction! After a long-distance whirlwind courtship we were married in Cyprus in October 1999 - well, Cyprus is The Island of Love... Now we have two boys, Dmitri and Costas aged 9 and 7 who are especially skilled at finding ways to use up all our spare time, not to mention money! Veronika is a laboratory technician and Grant is a computer programmer and we live near Basingstoke.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Paphos is a beautiful corner of Cyprus, quiet and peaceful but still with plenty of things to see and do. We had rented an apartment in 2004 and were so impressed by the quality of the building that we decided to buy one ourselves. At the time Sirena Olympia was a wasteground and our apartment was just a twinkle in the eye of the builder, Costas Gavrielides. Now it is a wonderful complex of excellent properties surrounding a large swimming pool. Being about 1.5 miles from the sea it is away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront yet within easy reach of both the beach and the old town of Pano Paphos. There are so many lovely restaurants within a 5 minute drive that you'll be spoilt for choice... luckily we do not provide scales in the apartment!

Unique benefits of the property
We aim to please our guests and offer a high standard of luxury in the apartment. Veronika's brother, George, is on hand to iron out any niggles. We are proud to report that we welcome back plenty of returning guests which we take as a sign of success! Our prices have not changed since the apartment was first built - we try to offer you a luxury holiday on an economy ticket. We do recommend that you hire a car. Why? First, it's not far to the sea but it is hot and walking can be pretty tiring. Second, if you want to get out and about then a car makes it very easy - they drive on the left and the roads are not overcrowded. Of course you also save on the taxi fares to and from the airport and you can pop to the big supermarkets whenever you find the wine has run out!
