Welcome to our home in Northern Cyprus. Villa Mamas is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Alsancak just 10 Kilometres from the centre of the ancient port town of Kyrenia (Girne). This large and airy bungalow is only 5 minutes drive from the local beaches (or 20 minutes easy stroll if you prefer). Surrounded by orange groves and olive trees it has uninterrupted views of the Besparmak Mountains from the pool, and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea from the upper terraces. Perfect for al fresco dining. Organised walks can be arranged for those who would like to explore the spectacular mountain scenery. Local firms also rent 4 wheel drive jeeps/quad bikes for off road exploring. Scuba Diving, Jet Skis and Banana Rides are just 3 miles away at Escape Beach. Golf Courses are to be found at Guzelyurt and Esenteppe. A short drive up the hill from Kyrenia is Bellapais Abbey. It was in Bellapais that Laurance Durrell wrote his book "Bitter Lemons".

Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Guests are strongly advised to book early for school holiday periods - these dates are very quickly taken!
Changeover day
To ensure our guests are not inconvenienced on changeover day we politely ask that guests vacate Villa Mamas no later than 11.00 am on the date of departure. Guests may check-in to the Villa from 3.00 pm. For more flexibility please contact the owners.

Stored in the garage are two large wooden tables, an assortment of sun loungers, parasols, tables and chairs for use around the pool area and terraces. Logs for the open-fire can also be found in the garage for the cooler evenings. |
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: |
Hand and bath towels provided with bed linen. The villa is cleaned before each new arrival. Clean towels and bed linen weekly. A weekly cleaning service is provided for 2/3 week lets. Guests should bring their own beach/pool towels. |

The owners are non-smokers and respectfully ask that you do not smoke in the Villa.

Outside
The property is set in a third of an acre. Surrounded by mature gardens. The private overflow swimming pool is large and has a Roman End with steps leading into the shallow end which is ideal for families with young children and non-swimmers. All garden furniture is stored in the garage and can be transported to the pool area or one of the terraces. From the Upper Sun Terraces you have panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and Besparmak Mountains. The perfect place to enjoy a BBQ and watch the spectacular sunsets.
Coast/Beach
Near to Villa Mamas is the Escape Beach only 5-10 minutes drive away. It has a beautiful sandy beach with cystal clear warm water. Tourist beaches usually charge a small admission fee for the day which will include the use of a sunbed and parasol. Escape Beach also has a large beach cafe'. A variety of watersports are on offer here. There are numerous beaches along this particular stretch of coast; many are often totally deserted.
Golf
Golf courses can be found at Guzelyurt, which is a 35 minute drive from the Villa and also at Esenteppe which is about an hour's drive.
Travel
Flights are available from most major UK Airports. The most poular route to North Cyprus is to Ercan Airport. The flight takes approx. 6 hours including a stop in Istanbul, Turkey.Flight costs vary depending on the time of year.
The Villa is 40 mins from Ercan Airport. We can arrange transfers for you; the cost is approximately £25.00 each way. A hire car is recommended to fully explore the island.Public transport is close to the Villa and is cheap and easy to use.
Distances
Alsancak Village is just 10 minutes walk. Centre of Kyrenia is a 15 minute drive. Nicosia is a 30 minute drive. Escape beach
5 minute drive. Ercan Airport 40 minutes.
Further details
There are many guidebooks to North Cyprus on the bookshelf in the villa, together with details of various interesting walks varying in distance and difficulty. Restaurants are in abundance. Many within walking distance of the villa. They offer food to suit all tastes from traditional Cypriot mezze to authentic curries and European cuisine. Credit cards are accepted in the larger shops and restaurants. Sterling is welcomed for all transactions. ATMs can easily be found and there are branches of HSBC in Kyrenia and Nicosia. For a day trip we would recommend the Karpas Peninsula ('Panhandle'). It is one of the most unspoiled places anywhere on the Mediterranean Continent. It is home to an outstanding variety of wildlife, and has some of the most beautiful (and deserted) beaches in Cyprus.
Booking notes
Deposit of 25% is payable at the time of booking.The balance is due 8 weeks prior to departure.
Cancellations: If we are able to re-let the Villa at the full tariff, a full refund will be given.
