Coast/Beach
5 minutes by car to a selection of local beaches. Most have umbrellas, loungers and cafes. Many have sun and water activities - water skiing, jetski. Isolated coves and beach inlets waiting to be discovered, just follow a dusty track. Much of the coastline remains unspolit and underdeveloped.
Golf
Korineum Golf & Country Club is 40 minutes away at Esentepe.This is a professional 18 hole course with a golf academy,extensive restaurants, shops and spa facility. Cengiz Topel Golf Course about 20 minutes away. Two loops of nine with 17 tees. Local climate and water restrictions result in greens being replaced by browns. It is a very good putting surface.
Travel
Regular flights to North Cyprus are now available form several UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast. These flights land at Ercan Nicosia, 40 minutes by car fom the villa. Alternatively, fly direct to Larnaca in the South. Taxi or car hire from there can be arranged. Border crossing is simple. Just bring your passport. It takes about 90minutes from baggage carousel to pool!
Distances
Kilisenin Alti (under the church) is located in the heart of the village below the dis -used orthodox church. Local taxi and bus services are easily available to the main beaches and restaurants. The local town of Kyrenia, with its beautiful harbour area, is 12 km away. Car hire ,for at least part of your stay, is highly recommended. Car hire, to European safety standard, can be arranged and delivered to your door.
Further details
The village has two shops providing essentials, a butchers, several coffee shops and a restaurant which is excellent for local fresh produce. The nearest supermarkets are 10 minutes drive. Para-gliding, sub aqua and water sports are available locally. The Catalkoy riding stables provide excellent facilites to European standard. Boat and fishing trips leave daily from Kyrenia harbour. Cyprus has a colourful and varied history and several archeological sites are waiting to be explored - Crusader castles, Gothic monasteries, Roman ampithetres, mosaics and a shipwreck museum are just a few.
Ideal for walking/ biking holidays.
Kyrenia provides wonderful shops and restaurants andthe harbour for people watching over a drink. It comes alive at night with clubs and disco.
