Notes on prices
Prices are in euros for 2 people per week. Additional persons pay euros 50 per week. One baby below the age of 2 is free per unit. Included are linen and blankets; hand and teatowels; use of pool and deckbeds; welcome pack. Not included: beach towels, water, electricity, gas and all taxes at 15 euros per person + week; use of washing machine in laundry 5 euro/machine.

Changeover day
Normally Saturday, but if you can get a cheaper flight on another day we shall see what we can do.

Hubbards House (3 bedrooms, sleeps 6/7)

This was Pearce Hubbards house out of "bitter lemons" by Lawrence Durrell. First floor: 3 big bedrooms (2 with fullsize double beds, 1 with French double bed). Bathroom (bath + handshower, sink, bidet and WC). Large lounge with open fireplace, settee, marble table and a couch serving as 7th bed. Ground floor: Kitchen with large dining table and 7 chairs, electric hob with 4 coils, oven and grill, large fridge, crockery, cutlery and saucepans for 7. Cloakroom. "Candle light dining room" with large marble table,2 built-in sofas flanking open fireplace. Covered verandah behind pointed arches with cocktail bar and garden furniture, providing lovely views out to the Monastery gardens with fish pond and draw-well. Tenants have exclusive use of the old Monastery gardens.

House Olivia (5 bedrooms, sleeps 8)

Detached two-storey house with 70 sq.m. patio/sun terrace. First floor: Bedrooms 1 and 2 with full size double beds, south facing covered balconies with mountain views, wardrobes and A/C. Bedroom 3 with full size twin beds, ceiling fan and wardrobe. Bedroom 4with full size single bed, ceiling fan and wardrobe. 2 bathrooms each with bath, hand shower, sink and WC. Ground floor: Bedroom 5: full size single bed, table fan, en suite sink/WC, cloakroom with sink and WC. Kitchen with 3 flame gas cooker, electric oven and grill, big fridge, crockery, cutlery and saucepans for 8. Dining room with table and chairs for 8. Sitting room with armchairs and sofas in local style for 8. Big garden table with 8 chairs.

Apartment (2 bedrooms, sleeps 4/5)

The apartment is on the ground floor of the ‘Tower’ (with the resident owners penthouse on the top floor) Bedroom 1 with full size double beds, ceiling fan, wardrobes. Bedroom 2 with full size twin beds (extra bed possible), ceiling fan, wardrobes. Bathroom with bath, hand shower, sink and WC. Kitchen with breakfast bar, gas hearth with 4 flames, oven and grill, big fridge, crockery, cutlery and saucepans for 4. Dining table and chairs for 4, sitting area with 2 sofas, covered verandah/sun terrace with garden furniture.

Notes on accommodation
Suitable for children. Sheets, blankets and bath and tea-towels provided, please bring your own beach towels.
There is a laundry with 2 washing machines; the maid will take your washes (GBP 2/machine) and handle it. Ironing you would have to do yourselves, there is an ironing board and irons.

Accessibility
Not suitable for wheelchairs.

Outside
60 sq.m. swimming pool with Roman stairs, set within 9 arches of former cloister, exclusively for use of guests,
garden furniture and poolside sunbeds provided,
portable charcoal barbecues (Turkish mangals)for use on veranda terraces or garden.

Coast/Beach
The nearest sandy beach is about 1km away. Typically, beaches are served by restaurants, showers and toilets. There is normally a small charge for sunbeds and umbrellas.Further sandy beaches in 4, 6 and 8km distance, all these are on the coast between Lapta and Girne.Further sandy beaches East of Girne and North of Famagusta.Many provide water sports and diving schools.

Golf
A magnificent 18 hole golf course has just been completed and opened, with driving, pitching and putting range Pro-shop and modern Clubhouse, about 50km away. Views of the mountains and sea. Green Fees:
High season £55 for 18 holes week days, £70 weekends.
Low season £30 for 18 holes week days, £40 weekends.
9-holes are £30/40 High season; £25/30 respectively.
Buggy £20/10 for 18/9 holes.

Excursions to the historic sites :3 crusader castles. Abbey of Bellapais with excellent restaurant on the premises. magnificent ancient Salamis with Roman amphitheatre, gymnasium, kings graves, mosaics. Excavation sites in Soli & Vuoni. Boat trips from Girne harbour along the beautiful coastline and deep sea-fishing from power boats, both with lunch & swimming breaks in one of the picturesque bays. Walks (guided orchid & wild flower walks in springtime);birds-and turtle watching (thousands of cranes migrate over Cyprus and the turtle babies hatch on the coasts East of Girne).

Travel
Flights are either to Ercan in North Cyprus via Istanbul, Izmir or Antalya with Cyprus Turkish or Turkish Airlines from various British airports. Transfer time approx. 50 minutes at £25 per Taxi. Or you fly to Larnaca in Southern Cyprus, non-stop, with various airlines from various British airports; transfer time approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes at £50/taxi.
In both cases we can arrange Turkish Cypriot taxis or coaches
(substantially cheaper than Greek ones).

Distances
Lapta is located about 15km west of Girne (Kyrenia) set on the foot of the Girne mountain range,which runs parallel to the coast. From Girne to Nicosia its 25 km.From Nicosia to Famagusta its about 100 km. You can reach every corner of the island within a few hours drive. Landscapes and fauna are magnificent; sunsets and full moonrises fantastic.

There is an abundance of restaurants catering to all tastes, both locally and within short driving distance. Car rental can be booked in advance on-line or through us or upon arrival here. Minibus service from our gate to Girne,Nicosia and Famagusta.
