Accessibility
The property is generally not suitable for people with mobility problems, the living space being on the first floor.
Outside
Off each bedroom, sliding patio doors leading to respective patio areas, one to a tiled enclosed area with vine-laden pergola, and the other leading to the front fruit garden. There is also garden to the side of the villa, connecting the front garden with the rear patio area, with Jacaranda and Pineapple Palm trees. The front garden is largely crazy-paved and contains lemon, orange, mandarin, and fig trees, with other shrubs including Hibiscus and Oleander, honeysuckle, jasmine etc. In the corner shed there are numerous items, including 2 foldable sunbeds with blue plastic mattresses (to be taken to the pool for the duration of your holiday, and replaced in the shed before you leave), sun umbrellas (4 of), and numerous children’s beach items, and odds and sods like ball games etc. There is a barbeque and lots of tables and chairs. A large communal swimming pool with shaded pergola is available, and is only one minute’s walk away.
Coast/Beach
About 3 kilometres away by car or taxi, down the hill, is Pissouri Bay. This area boasts an excellent beach with sun beds and shades, watersports, including sailing dingies, windsurfers, jet skis, waterskiing, paragliding, and the sillier speedboat-towed activities. Also the 5-star Columbia Hotel, Village and leisure complex, shops and about ten or so restaurants and Tavernas.
Golf
The championship course of Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley are both about 15 minutes away. 40 minutes' drive to the north of Paphos is Tsada golf course. There is a further 9-hole (played as 18) course at Vickla in the foothills above Limassol, about 1 hour’s drive away through and in beautiful countryside. The charge/day is CY14, and in May through to October there is a swimming pool available to golfers and non-golfing companions, with sun chairs etc. Food is also available, plus the bar. Totally eccentric!! (and recommended…) The British Army base of Episkopi boasts an 18-hole course in 'Happy Valley', about 10 - 15 minutes' drive away. This course uses astro-turf greens, and mainly dry fairways, but is considerably cheaper than the main courses, at CY£15 per day. Also, and not least important, the beer is heavily subsidised!! Playing here is great fun! A full set of clubs are available free of charge for use by my guests. Clubs and shoes can also be hired at the courses.
Travel
Lemontree Villa is 15 minutes’ drive from Paphos Airport and about 1 hour from Larnaca Airport. Transfer to and from both airports can be arranged. *Our car, a Mitsubishi Lancer 1500 automatic with air conditioning is available free of charge to our guests, provided that the driver(s) have current driving licences and are aged between 25 and 70. If the car is off-road for any reason, then it will be up to the guest to arrange alternative car hire. Local facilities are in the village.
Distances
Paphos (with Harbour and famous Mosaics) and Limassol are both about 25 minutes' drive away, with many places of archaelogical interest nearby, including Curion, with excellent Roman/Greek/Christian remains, including mosaics and an amphitheatre. The Troodos Mountains are about 40 minutes' drive away, with many interesting villages on the way. Skiing is available during winter months. Mountain biking and walking are also very popular.
Further details
Pissouri Village boasts 3 banks, one medium-sized and two smaller supermarkets, numerous traditional tavernas, such as: Moonlight, Vrakla, Hideaway, Pissouriana (with pool), Pissouri Square and Symposium. During the day, you can take a beer or coffee in the square and watch the world pass by ... There are also about 4 smaller Kebab-type cafes, a Pizza restaurant and a chinese restaurant. In addition, there are the excellent (all three of them) Bunch of Grapes, Hill View, and Olympus Palace restaurants, that offer really good international cuisine. Also there are five bars: Iron Horse, Diver's Bar, Sparti Bar, Red Fever and Sultana Bar. There are no noisy nightclubs - life is very gentle. Also, between May and October, there are the famous 'Cyprus Nights', every Wednesday in the village square, encompassing three tavernas, and on Friday, at the Vineleaf Tavern, where there are excellent self-service Mezes (eat as much or as little) ( as you like, traditional Greek and Cyprus dancing by professional local performers, and periods during and after the eating and performances for your own disco-style dancing - mainly 60s to 80s music, with some local Cypriot men and ladies doing their macho thing to local music (well worth a seat at the front!!).
