Notes on accommodation
Log fire and 3 radiators in living area; air conditioning and radiators in all bedrooms. Very suitable for children with gates on all terraces and circular staircase, child safety kit supplied and lots of pool/beach toys. Built-in safe. The villa is equipped with 2 travel cots, highchair, and a bed safety rail.
Outside
Mature landscaped large garden with many exotic plants and grass/patio areas. Private 10m x 5m overflow swimming pool with ladder and steps into pool. Outdoor shower. Six sun loungers with cushions. Pool terrace with two large bamboo bucket chairs, two bamboo armchairs and bamboo coffee table. Dining terrace with wrought iron table and 4 chairs and built-in bbq. Roof terrace accessible via wrought iron circular staircase, with wrought iron table, two chairs and two-seater sofa. All terraces have gates fitted for child safety. Ample parking in driveway for two cars. Property enclosed by dry-stone walls and wrought iron gates.
Coast/Beach
Five minutes by car to the Mare Monte beach. Sandy beach with sun loungers, umbrellas, cafe.
10 minutes by car to the Escape beach. Best sandy beach in the area. Excellent restaurant, sun loungers and water activities.

Travel
Flights to North Cyprus are available from various UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Belfast and Glasgow. Information and advice on bookings available from owners. You can fly directly into Larnaca in the South or via Turkey into the North. Taxi transfers direct to the villa take approx. 1 hr from the South or 35 mins from the North. Car hire and your vehicle is delivered to the villa. Rates are competitive. We have 2 UK car seats available.
Distances
Nearest village is Alsancak which is walking distance. Main town of Kyrenia is 15 mins by car. Nicosia (crossing point to Southern Cyprus) is 30 minutes by car. Famagusta is 1hr 30 mins by car.
Further details
On arrival you will find a welcome pack of fresh food and drinks awaiting you. A comprehensive guide for use of the property, pool, etc, are in the villa together with local info re beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc. The Managing Agents will carry out a courtesy visit to ensure everything is ok and to help with queries. Local supermarkets have a lot of UK-brand goods. The best ones are Tempo and Lemar (10 minutes from villa). Excellent mezze restaurant (the best in the area) is called Cenap and is situated in Alsancak. Pizza King 3 minutes drive for takeaway pizza. The area is peppered with good restaurants but the following are recommended: Jashan's (Indian) - 10 minutes from villa (also does takeaway); The Virage, Kyrenia; N.B. If we are booked, please contact us as we know of other similar villas available.
Booking notes
Please contact owner. 50% deposit of total rental to secure the booking paid either by cheque or bank transfer. Confirmation of booking and receipt of payment will be made by e-mail. Balance required approx 8 weeks before start of holiday. Deposit of £100 payable with balance and returned one week after the end of your holiday. Cancellation charges: up to 8 weeks - deposit; up to 55 to 29 days - 60% of total cost; up to 28 days - 100%. Keys available from meet-and-greet taxi driver.

About the owner
My name is Laura and I live in Hereford with my husband, Danny. He is a Security Consultant and I am a former PA and Spanish Teacher; I am now studying soft furnishings. We have two daughters, Madeleine aged 9 and Olivia aged 7.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We started building Casa Magdalena (Madeleine's house) when we found the perfect plot in April 2003. It has mountain views, sea views and far-reaching views to the West. We chose a Spanish style construction which is unusual on the island. The garden is our pride and joy and sets the villa apart from others. We are reasonably close to Kyrenia but far away from the madding crowd! It has been our perfect holiday home and retreat for the past 7 years.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is very much geared towards families, and small children in particular, as it has boltable gates on every terrace and a walled garden prevents wandering! Every modern convenience has been provided. This has to be home from home for us with every comfort, and our customers feel the same. Supermarkets and restaurants are within walking distance and the neighbours are very friendly. If you love to walk there are some amazing places to explore in and around Alsancak. Beautiful beaches are 5 mins by car and the nightlife in Kyrenia is only a 15-20 min ride away.
