The Peace House, once a 250 year old ruin, has been lovingly restored to more than its former glory using traditional stone walls, antique Cypriot doors, ancient stone arches and old flagstone floors. It boasts superb views of the sea and mountains from its walk-around terraces or by standing in the large garden, where you are surrounded by a host of Mediterranean flowers and fruit trees. The village is a few minutes drive to the nearest beach but if you want to stay and swim without the bother of a drive the magnificent 33' x 16' pool is for you. Or sit under the stone arches by the poolside terrace and enjoy a cold drink from the 'fridge in the all modern kitchen just behind you. If you like eating out there is a variety of top class restaurants to choose from, in and around Alsancak or in Kyrenia itself. However, if you prefer dining at home, a solid English oak table and eight carved oak chairs are ready for that holiday feast with satellite TV and sounds in the lounge.

| Bedrooms: | All bedrooms have four-poster beds. There are also daybeds and extra sleeping room in the lounge. All bedrooms are en suite with shower and toilet. One downstairs bedroom also features a bath for that long, hot, soak. |
| Bathrooms: | All bathrooms have showers, sink, toilet and vanity units. One downstairs bedroom has a bath as well. There is one outside toilet and sink and a shower by the pool. |
| Kitchen: | The fully fitted modernised kitchen includes cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, grill, toaster, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. |
| Living Rooms: | Downstairs dining room is next to the kitchen for ease of serving. Walk across cool flagstone floors through large entrance hall and up stone steps to the gallery, with its mountain views, into the spacious lounge with TV, DVD/CD and tape player. |

Towels and linen are included. The property is cleaned once a week with an extra midweek clean for an additional small charge. |
Notes on accommodation
Ideal for children who love the sea (or pool), walkers who love the mountains, its orchids and other flora or anyone just wanting a restful break in an inspiring location. Gardening enthusiasts should enjoy themselves, especially as there is a flower centre right at the bottom of the garden!
Outside
A large 33' x 16' pool ensures a wonderful swim or simply relax in the love seat nearby and finish that book you keep promising you will read. Beyond the seat is a wooden pergola with more chairs and a small table, just right for a shaded snooze or yet another place to read that book! The terrace features several arches along with old Cypriot stone bread ovens. A barbecue sits at the far end of the pool. There are also eight sun beds and sun umbrellas. In the garden you can enjoy various fruit trees, including orange, lemon and peach, olive and palm trees, jacaranda, jasmine, lavender and bougainvillaea.
Coast/Beach
Several sandy beaches are located nearby, all within 3 or 4 kms. In a car it should take not more than 5 or 10 minutes from the house to the seaside. Amenities, including showers and changing rooms, as well as restaurants etc are available at some of the beach bars.
Golf
There is a small local golf course about 30 minutes drive away to the west of Alsancak but a swish new one is being built near Esentepe, on the eastern side of the island and about 20 minutes drive from Kyrenia.
Travel
The nearest airport in Northern Cyprus is Ercan, about 45 minutes drive away from Kyrenia. There is also a direct flight from Larnaca (in the south), an hour or so away.
A hire car is highly recommended. A free pick up from Ercan can be arranged for guests, if they book through this web-site.
Distances
Six miles west from the villa is the bustling harbour of Kyrenia, with its restaurants, shops, bars and an ancient castle. There are other Crusader castles on the island, the nearest you will pass as you start the drive down the mountain into the harbour from the airport. The capital, Nicosia (now renamed Lefkosa), is about 20 miles away and well worth a visit for its mosque and covered market.
Further details
Local shops and supermarkets offer a wide range of goods, many of which can be found in the UK. Both they and the local shop offer fresh bread from the early morning. Restaurants are many and varied. An excellent meze restuarant is a short walk from the house but many other eating establishments are on the main road into Kyrenia and in Kyrenia itself. All outlets take Sterling or Turkish lira and at least one bank (HSBC) issues Sterling from its ATM. All major bank cards are accepted in shops, bars and restaurants and at ATM's in Turkish banks.

We take a 20% non-refundable deposit to confirm a booking and the full amount to be paid 12 weeks before the holiday begins.
