A magnificently situated apartment in the very heart of the famous picturesque harbour of Kyrenia. This small horseshoe shaped ancient Venetian harbour is said by some to be the most scenic in the world and is alive with culture and antiques, fishing boats and day trip vessels. The sunsets are not to be missed, in view of the illuminated 9th century castle guarding the harbour, while taking a meal and enjoying the wine. A great "feel good factor" to dine on the balcony and watch the world go by, in the spectacular ambiance of this special unique area, with the mountains in the backdrop to complete the picture.

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning/central heating. Room fans. Children not recommended under 10 years of age due to balcony. Access is to the rear of the property to reach 2nd floor, top penthouse apartment. Built 1970s on top of one of the original old carob warehouse, designed in keeping with the area. Look at any picture of the famous Old Harbour Kyrenia and you will see the apartment building with its balconies in the centre of the harbour.

Accessibility
Not suitable for people with mobility problems due to flight of stairs and no lift.
Outside
The apartment has a balcony with table and chairs and sunlounger, directly overlooking the harbour. The entrance to the property is at rear of the harbour through oak gates into a small level area and up steps.
Coast/Beach
Very popular Acapulco Beach is a short 10 mins drive away. Full amenities with large pool and watersports. Aqua Park and bar are also a short 5 mins drive. Escape Beach(wonderful for swimming) is 10 mins drive. Lara Beach is a beautiful natural area. Turtle Beach is also a "not to be missed" place of natural beauty. Beaches to dream about in Karpaz, a place called "like heaven on earth". Local Dome Hotel, 5 mins walk, with pool/sunbeds with access to sea.
Golf
There is a 9-hole Golf course at nearby Guzelyurt and a 18-hole course near to completion 2006 within a short drive. Crossing the boarder into the South there are many to chose from.
Skiing
Winter skiing in the Troodos mountains in South Cyprus easily reached by crossing the new nearby border.
Travel
Ercan Airport is approximately 25 minutes. Larnaca Airport have more flights, about 80 mins drive where you cross the border with ease. Hire a car with my low priced recommended Agent, and transfers will be free of charge to and from Ercan Airportand and reduced from Larnaca Airport. Details on request. Or just pick-ups can be arranged to and from either airport at reduced taxis charge rates.
Distances
The apartment is within 2 minutes short walk through ancient backlanes to the town centre. The 9th centry castle is packed with stimulating interests, including the remains of the oldest shipwreck/contents in the world. Orchid walks to see some of the rarest orchids in the world, range walks, horse riding, deep sea fishing, water sports, scuba diving and paragliding are available. Vast selection of boat trips from the Old Harbour including various activities on board.
Further details
Cash machines readily available (HSBC Bank in Kyrenia town centre)within 2 mins walk. English 3-pin plugs used and driving is on the left as in England. Boats trips to Turkey (40 miles) depart from the New Harbour. Fantastic restaurants are everywhere for enjoying mezes, kebabs and wonderful local specialities at very affordable prices. And the drinks are very affordable too! English is widely spoken. The currency is Turkish Lire and sterling is often accepted gladly in towns. A huge supermarket open until 10pm is 2 minute drive (15 mins walk) or local shops open until late within 2 minutes walk. Good prepared food can be bought cheaply. Local minibuses go to most districts regularly. Also many interesting tours can be booked at any local Hotel. The harbour Boat Trips are a wonderful full day out and not to be missed at approx £20 complete with full meal at sea! Do not take Scottish notes as these are not acceptable anywhere.
