Notes on accommodation
Downstairs bedroom and shower room are suitable for elderly people who prefer not to use stairs. High chairs, cots and car booster seats available on request. All bedrooms have air conditioning. Unspoilt views across the Mediterranean from balconies and terracing. Also fantastic views of besparak mountain range.
Accessibility
The property has a double size front door. There is a large shower room downstairs and a downstairs bedroom with air conditioning. Downstairs rooms are all on one level.
Outside
Includes 10m x 5m overflow swimming pool with roman end, gardens, patios, pergola, extensive terraces with sun and shade areas all day with views of the gardens, mountain or sea as preferred. Garden has a pergola with a barbecue, a clay oven for slow cooked lamb and chicken, outdoor furniture, sunbeds, extensive parking, flower gardens, fruit trees and 2 x balconies.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is about 800m away, although for a short car journey or taxi ride there are a few high quality beach clubs with private beaches, pools, water sports, showers, and cafes. These beach clubs are very reasonable with full access for the day being only a couple of pounds. Also 30 mins from the famous turtle beach.
Golf
A new golf course is being built about 30 mins away, more details on request.
Skiing
50 minutes from Troodos mountains for winter skiing.
Special interest holidays
Hiking tours for people of all ages and physical disposition are organized by a number of centers in the Kyrenia area generally conducted in the Kyrenia mountain range. One particular tour party, organized by 'Association of Mountaineering', meets every Sunday between October and the end of April, and twice a month (again on Sundays) between the summer months from May to the end of September. During the winter, the tour programme is published at the beginning of every month explaining the route and where to meet etc. All walks, as well as being good exercise, endeavour to show walkers interesting natural and historical features. The tours generally start at 7.30 am and finish between 10 and 11 am. The fire breaks which are cleared into the mountain side during the spring and summer are ideal for exciting downhill mountain bike action. There are also plenty of more gentle off road slopes at the edge of the range.
Travel
Ercan airport is 40 minutes away with free pickup with car rental.
Larnaca is 75 minutes away cheap pick up and return avilable with car rental.
Paphos is 2 1/2 hours away.
Distances
8km from Kyrenia (or Girne in Turkish). In Kyrenia there is a splendid Venetian harbour, around which are many restaurants and bars. It is said to be the prettiest harbour in the Mediterranean. Overlooking the harbour in Kyrenia is a splendid Castle which houses a fascinating shipwreck museum. Also there iare plenty of other places of historical interest. Kyrenia has a large choice of shops, both old and new selling a wide range of Cypriot, Turkish and European merchandise.
Further details
There are several scuba diving schools around the coast. Wreck diving is available. Snorkeling is a popular activity in the clear waters of the mediterranean.
there are many other water sports avaible within 15 minutes drive of the villa including jet ski hire, speed boat hire, bananna and doughnut riding, fishing trips, and even paragliding behind a boat.
There are several water slide parks within easy travelling distance, one of which is in the adjoining town of lapta and just 10 minutes away.
For those who wish to see the sights on horseback there is a riding club. They do beginners lessons and do trail riding visiting local landmarks for the more experienced. There is also horse ridding available in the mountains about 20 minutes away from the villa.
Tandem paragliding is available and provides unbetable views of the north coast and mountain range.
In the evenings the harbour bustles in Kyrenia and there is an evening market there most nights. It is a perfect place to sit with a cool drink and watch the sun go down. There are many restaurants there but the better ones are away from the harbour in the pretty cobbled side streets. This is the place to book your boat trips, which are a great way to see the island. There are many boats in the harbour all wanting your custom, so check out the menus and drinks that will be included in the package.
There are a number of casinos in the area for those who fancy a flutter with food and drinks on the house.
There are countless great restauarants available from traditional Cypriot / Turkish, to fine European cuisine, fish specialists, a Brazillian steak house, Indian food, Chinese food, Stone Grill, Pizza, and Kleftico.
Go-carting, 10 pin bowling, cinema and bars showing Sky sports are all available in the local area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I bought some land in this village as I thought the scenary was beautiful. It was not too busy and not too remote. I knew I could build a house that was not overlooked from any dimension.
Unique benefits of the property
I love to lay on the terraces at night with the lights off and star gaze with a cold beer. I also enjoy the views of the mountains with the various weather systems changing in the early mornings. I also am lucky to have the kindest neighbours who have all made me very welcome.
