Situated on the edge of the charming village of Catalkoy and approx 2 miles east of Girne (Kyrenia), Lorraine has its own private overflow pool in a beautifully landscaped gravelled garden. Spiral staircase leading to a roof terrace to enjoy stunning mountain and sea views. Several beaches and restaurants are within easy reach.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is strictly non smoking. The swimming pool is 1.5m deep overall so is unsuitable for young children unattended. Air-conditioning is by swipe card meter, cards can be purchased from neighbour. I have compiled a large welcome folder full of advice about the villa and packed with information about places of interest. There is a large laminated map and several books about local walks, flora and wildlife. 3G Dongle available for internet access for £50 returnable deposit and £40 min top up payable in advance. Heater for cooler months. Hair dryer. Picnic cool box, flask, beach mats.
Accessibility
Although the Villa is on one level, I am at this time unable to provide for wheelchair users. Sorry
Outside
Besides the pool with its colour changing submerged lights, the roof terrace makes the villa unique. The spiral staircase leading to it is lit by fairy lights at night and with the hanging lanterns on the pergola, the evenings are magical. We have a traditional BBQ, six sun loungers, parasols and tables inflatables for the pool. Sail shaded beautiful Turkish marble terrace with table and chairs for all your alfresco dining! Solar lights dot the garden.
Coast/Beach
Several beaches and coves nearby most within a 10 min drive. Catalkoy Beach with bar and lovely open-air covered restaurant. Diana Beach with sandy beach and water sports in the Summer, Lara Beach (20 mins on East coast road) nice beach with good cafe. Alagadi is a beautiful beach with safe swimming and turtle watching, Acapulco complex for lovely beach, outdoor and indoor pools for cooler weather. The best beach experience though is at the Karpas Peninsular for beaches out of this world.
Golf
Excellent championship golf course and clubhouse at Esentepe 'Korenium Golf and Country Club' 15 minutes drive from Villa. Top class dining and facilities at thie club including driving range, fitness centre, pro shop. Turn up and play amid lovely scenery. Par 72 and hire facilities available including clubs shoes and buggys
Travel
Nearest airport is Ercan(with approx 30 min touchdown in Turkey) 30 minutes drive to the Villa. You can also fly direct to Larnaca in the South(90 mins to Villa) various airlines from many regional airports fly there It is highly recommended that you hire a car for your holiday. This the owner can arrange for you. Also transfers can be arranged.
Distances
Village of Catalkoy 1 mile away. Village of Ozankoy (marking the start of the Crusader Path featured in our book 'walks of Northern Cyprus' which I have placed at the villa) Kyrenia (Girne) with it's lovely harbour 3km. Bellapais Abbey 3-4km
Further details
Local supermarket, a very friendly shop with a wide variety of goods, cafe and even currency exchange. They are open from around 7.30 until 10pm 7 days a week. Very good pharmacy 5 mins walk. Northern Cyprus has the most wonderful climate, in fact one of the best in the whole of the Mediterranean. There are three crusader castles to visit in the mountains and the memory of the stunning views and romance of the castles will stay with you forever. Walt Disney is reputed to have based his story Sleeping Beauty on the towers of St.Hilarion Castle. Bellapaise Abbey built in 1325 is legendary and a must to visit. Kyrenia is ideal for hiking for people of all ages. Take in an orchid walk(March/April) and try and spot some of the 32 confirmed species, boat trips, paragliding, horse riding, scuba diving and not to forget shopping!

20% deposit on booking, balance eight weeks before departure. Late bookings less than eight weeks to date of departure, payment in full at time of booking. 20% discount for 2 persons only except in July and August.

I live in Herfordshire UK with my daughter and son-in-law and three of my five grandchildren. We live in a large old farmhouse along with our golden retriever and naughty Jack Russell terrier.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
It was during a chance visit to see friends in Kyrenia whilst holidaying in the South that I fell in love with the magic of Northern Cyprus. I particularly love the romance of the mountain crusader castles and the beauty of the Karpas Peninsular. Also the legendary Bellapaise abbey is wonderful. The local people are friendly, helpful and always eager to please.
Unique benefits of the property
The Villa is 10 -30 minutes drive, East or West to really good sandy beaches and has the most wonderful mountain views from the roof terrace, reached by a lovely spiral staircase. We are only 5 minutes walk/2mins drive to the nearest supermarket and only a few minutes drive to the nearest good restaurant.
