Changeover day
Arrival and departure days are flexible. Arrival times are after 2pm and departure by 11am, however, arrangement outside of these time are sometimes possible.

Kitchen: Kitchen: dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, split level cooker, washing machine, breakfast bar, dining area, radio/CD player choice of 100s of CDs. Leads to ground floor terrace. Library with hundreds of books to choose from.
Utility Room: Second floor: Roof terrace. The area leading to the terrace has additional fridge, gas hob. Ironing board and iron.
Living Rooms: Circular sitting room: high specification fittings and furnishings, triple aspect, flat screen TV, DVD/CD player, 400+ DVDs to choose from, open fireplace, overhead fans, sumptuous seating areas plus study area. Leading to ground floor terrace.
Other: Underground garaging and storage.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Quality and generous supplies of linen/towels. Clean towels available as required. Linen changed weekly. On arrival the villa will be ready for immediate occupation with beds made-up bathroom toiletries. Additional maid service is available on request.

All bedrooms have air-conditioning/heating units, ceiling fans, mosquito nets and hair driers. Living areas have two ceiling fans in each room.

Accessibility
Wheelchair users and those less able should note: Whilst, there are ground floor toilet facilities, all the flooring is marble the bedrooms are all on the first floor, there are steps down to the pool area.

Outside
The ground floor terrace surrounds the villa and has aspects to the mountains and the sea, there is a gas barbecue and three separate alfresco dining areas which overlook and lead down to the 4m x 10m pool - minimum depth of 1.5 metres is ideal for diving or just drifting with a drink and a book on a floating pool lounger. However, it is not suitable for young unsupervised children. Substantial garden: Here you will find sunbeds, parasols and palm trees to shade the mid-day sun. There is also a range of games to keep both youngsters and adults busy and when the sun goes down there is a three inch reflector telescope to watch the amazing night sky, you may also see the odd shooting star - don't forget to make a wish! Should you want to find your own space there are additional terraces on the first and second floors for you to escape and find the peace of your own company for a little while.

Coast/Beach
Nearest sandy beach/cove is a pleasant walk or five minutes drive which has a taverna, sunbeds and parasols. Frequented mainly by local people - as tourist have yet to find it - keeps this beach peaceful and quiet especially on week days. Other beaches in the area provide water sports and equipment.

Golf
Korineim Golf Club: Just a ten minutes drive from the villa. A quality set of golf clubs is available, at the villa, for the use of White House guests.

Travel
Ercan Airport: Serves Norther Cyprus and is less than 30 minutes drive away. Larnaca Airport: Is in the south of the Island, transfer time is approximately 90 minutes. Collection from both airports can be arranged. Most car hire companies will collect free of charge from Ercan. We would recommend car hire, which starts at approximately £15 per day (summer rate). Contact the owners for further information regarding travel and free car hire.

Distances
Catalkoy is approximately 6 miles from the historic town of Kyrenia where there are innumerable individual shops, restaurants and places of interest. There are many historic sites within 15/20 minutes drive: Buffavento Castle, St Hilarion Castle, Antiphontis Monastery and Bellaspais Abbey who's lights can be seen twinkling from the villa at night.

Further details
There are supermarkets, chemists, local fruit/vegetable stalls all within a five minute drive. Nearest supermarket is five minutes walk. A choice and variety of restaurants in the area the nearest a five minute walk. Most shops and restaurants will accept sterling and euros, however, there are a number of bureaus and banks in Kyrenia. For the active traveller there is: An Aqua Park and go-carting 2 miles away, quad bike tours, horse riding, sailing, diving and lots of organised walks are all available in the area.

About the owner
Hello, my name is Paula and my husband is Iain. We live in Weybridge, wonderful place when the sun shines. I retired in 2007, and this year have spent my time doing everything from Bear Rescue in Cambodia to a film extra in Greenwich. My other half will be working away until 2013, at which time we hope to spend much of our time enjoying our Catalkoy villa and the delights of North Cyprus.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
In 2001 visiting North Cyprus we were amazed to find this unique island hardly touched by commercialism - how could this be? The quaint streets, houses surrounded by rainbows of Bougainvillea mingled with Jasmine imparting a wonderful heady scent. Historic sites, wall to wall sunshine - wow. However, it was only on reading a headline in a local newspaper; 'Boys arrested for stealing lemons' we realised if this was the worst to happen we wanted to stay. Searching the Island we found our dream village Catalkoy, every convenience yet away from development areas, but, between harbour and golf course. By chance, early one evening, we found a plot of land there and as we gazed out at the Mediterranean with shafts of golden sunlight gently setting into the blue we knew. The rest, history...

Unique benefits of the property
Our Architect. Cypriot, trained in USA was able to bring together the design and technology we sought. In 2002/3 our holidays were busy creating both interior and exterior areas which encompassed both style and comfort. This entailed importing many furnishings and books for the library. Our first real holiday was 2004. With the realisation we had a haven far beyond original expectation. Somewhere we and our friends plus guests, like yourself, could be as active or as laid back as you like. Decisions, decisions; a walk to the health club, the beach, some historic culture? Could be a day by the pool, whilst thinking about a local restaurant for supper. After which you may choose to sleep on the roof terrace with a cast of a 1000 stars to take you to effervescent oblivion. Until tomorrow...
